Minutes of the Meeting.

One thing that I really miss,

Since I have retired,

Is minutes of the meetings,

Which were then required.

I go and see the doctor,

Ten minutes at the most

How nice to get the minutes,

Soon after in the post.

Poor hearing and bad memory,

Play havoc as it is,

Recalling what I thought he said

Sends my brainbox in a tizz.

So that remains a contentious bone.

Another snag of living on your own.

Well written Don and it must be difficult to live alone at times.

You take care and thank goodness for Midge. Xxxx

Well said Don,you know what they say "those that live alone live longer "

That's because we have to do things for our selves

Take care

That is very true, I think, it might just seem longer of course. I'm amazed how much my Missus used to do for me!

Good afternoon Don hope you will be on your travels with midge soon x

Good afternoon, Margaret. I'm hoping to get away this week, the weather forecast looks good. I fancy a short visit to Scarborough to build my confidence back up.

I hated the meetings and I hated the minutes more, both were boring and didn't achieve much!

in reply to PMRPete

Same as seeing the doctor then? 🙄

YES! I do hate going to the doctors BUT I manage to take my own notes of our encounter, when I go to the hospital I get a copy of what they tell the doctors in the post.

By the way I'm a 1932 version! Pete

Well there you go. They always have improvements on the later models.

Mobile phone and record it xx

I don't get on with my phone that well. That's why they call them iPhones, they care only for themselves!

In the days of quill pens and ink wells it was up to one of the team to take the minutes and then duly distribute them to everybody in a timely manner. I had managed to evade this awful task through either being a bit poorly, holidays, appointments with clients or if necessary sheer cunning.

But came the day that I could no longer put the dreaded deed off, so armed with a few scraps of paper and a pencil I took the minutes and two months later after much nagging from the boss I emailed the minutes to my colleagues. I had all the usual bits necessary information apologies etc. but by the time we had got to matters to discuss I had got bored and had, had a bit of a day dream instead. So my minutes we 3/4 page long with an abrupt ending of:

The end - sorry I got bored

I never had to take minutes again.......

Cheers

Sue

One of the benefits of doing the minutes was, first to delay them, then to write what you wished had been discussed and agreed when must people had forgotten what happened anyway. Once in the minutes they became law. ;-)
