Has anyone had these lung coils put in I've had a very breathless week housebound for all of last week feeling sorry for myself and others in similar situ. Sam

Hi I had valves in my right lung 5 in total 2 years ago it's made a huge difference to my breathing hope this helps x

I would love to hear more about your situation. Do you know if your FEV1% improved and was it immediate or over a period of time? Has there been any negative side effects? What are you able to do now that you could not before? Many people have asked about coils and valves on here and I think most of us would appreciate any information you would like to share with us.

I was in hospital for 3 days I was uncomfortable but wasn't in much pain my breathing became better within few month,but unfortunately my left lung became worse and last year I had lung reduction in Glenfield hospital, I can do much more than before walk upstairs without stopping, play with my grandchildren,on my last appointment with my consultant he was very pleased with my improvement iv also come off oxygen.hope this helps good luck x

Thank you for the reply and information on your experience with the valves. I am sure it will be helpful to some for whom the valves would be appropriate as apparently they will not help for everyone.

Thank you , did it hurt ? I've never seen a pulmonary Doctor only pulmonary nurses, they visit every 4/5 months Sam

Hi Samjeff, i'm back at the hospital next month to find out if i can have these coils fitted, i've done my own research and i really do hope so, otherwise the only other option is a double lung transplant which scares the hell out of me.

I had to go through a lot of test to see if I was bad enough to have the valves fitted because it was I trail, I'm so glad I had it because iv never looked back.Hope you get ok good look let me no how you get on x
