Thought you animal lover out there might like this
The ducks are regular visitors to our garden every year ( as they know they are going to get fed).If there is no food on the lawn they sometimes jump up flapping their wings (flying in other words) and look in the window to get our attention !!!! But this little madam capped everything by sitting on the window cill and started tapping on the window (scared the life out the cat LOL )
Not for much longer though as the developers have moved into the field immediately outside our front (the otherside of the fence you see in the pic ) Grrrr

Not just the ducks though Sassy - there was a sparrow hawk sat on the fence last night and the rabbits and wildlife I watch on a daily basis will all disappear as their habitat is turned into housing
How lovely. We used to have a small pond and every year we were visited by a pair of ducks that we called Mack and Mabel, I think they probably came from the lake in the park which is less than a couple of miles from us as they arrived every morning and flew off again at sunset. From day one they took control, deciding how often and at what times they should be fed, if I was late responding to their quacks they'd leave the pond and come to the door of the utility room demanding my attention very loudly, and when it was open, if I wasn't quite quick enough with their food - they were in. The female was the boldest, always at the front and not afraid to march through into the breakfast room - making it difficult to explain her noise and my half ushering half laughing noises if I happened to be on the phone! We're surrounded by other houses but they didn't seem in the least bit bothered, they'd wander from the back garden onto the front garden and then cross over the road to the grassy bank in front of the houses opposite, regardless of any traffic. Initially, neighbours thought they must be ours, and would come and tell us that our ducks were on the road holding up the traffic. It was lovely to see how everyone watching chatted and laughed because two little ducks had suddenly brightened up the day.
I absolutely love this picture. I live in the city and am lucky to see a butterfly. She certainly looks like a clever little madam. I am so sorry the developers have come in. Dreadful for the wildlife and human inhabitants. Thank you for posting.
We are so lucky living at the edge of a village (for now) as we get a wide range of wildlife including lots of different species of butterflies and birds. I was watching the rabbits playing last night when a Sparrow Hawk landed on the fence.....Sadly their habitat is now going to be destroyed and I will spend what is left of my life looking at a building site
oh plumbob she is beautiful pity you can't get some geese to attack the workers and then take them to the council and get them to attack the councillor who granted the planning
I have a wife that will do that at a drop of a hat. I wouldn't cross her LOL.
We have been getting a couple of Herons (suprising how big they are !!) landing in field occasionally. Last night as I was watching Rabbits paying a Sparrow Hawk Landed on the fence Sadly the wild life habitats will just be another building site
Glad to see you still have your sense of humour plumbob the old man and I were out in the garden yesterday we have some beautiful Robbins and bluetits' 😊
