Have a look here at previous posts. Some of them are old but others much more recent.

Hi jeanmol - it certainly is worth shopping around to see if you can get a better quote.

BLF don’t have a list of insurance companies, but other people have found insurers by searching on the internet under ‘travel insurance for pre-existing medical conditions’. We can’t single out any particular company as being better than another, but we do have a link with an insurance company called Fish Insurance.

We’re not recommending them and we can’t promise they’ll be the cheapest but we do know they have a lot of experience providing insurance to people with pre-existing medical conditions.

You can contact them on 0333 331 3848 or visit their website fishinsurance.co.uk/blf

For every policy they issue, a donation will be made to British Lung Foundation.

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Ben

Thank you Ben ,will check them out ,just wandering if its worth going on holiday with all the hassel

It'll be worth it once all this has been sorted out. I agree though, it can be a stressful and time consuming process. I hope you can find a good quote soon! :-)

Have just gone through nearly all the travel ins co's most would not insure my hubby as he was in hospital in March 2018, some of the companies that would (3/4 only) started at £3500.00 -£5500.00 an annual policy and that excluded cancellation.

A few others would insure for a one off .... 14 day holiday at a cost of £1500.00 excluding cancellation.

I did manage to get insurance including cancelation for the 10 days we are going away at a cost of £550.00.

I have also had to purchase oxygen for the flight (Ryanair) at a cost of £110.00

and also purchase oxygen generator to take with us as he has oxygen 15 hours a night .... at a cost of £520.00 for the 10 days....

The ins co I used was Flexicover.

We are new to this also as hubby only went on oxygen this April 2018, so we are also learning and spend hours sorting these companies out.

Hope this helps
