Severe Cough and chest pain

Hi am new over here.Ive severe Cough for last 4 days and my chest ribs hurt badly.I am asthmatic for last 12 years and for last 5 years I am on seretide inhaler. Shall I go to doctor to get inhaler changed ? I go to gp but he doesn't refer me to a pulmonologist saying that I've clear lungs when he observes with stethoscope. But I suffer slot night time while I get to sleep. Shall I get to have an x ray in order to get to know if thers something wrong with my lungs or any other tests?

I'm not sure what you need to do but a cough for 4 days is not really a long time.. it may just be viral or something? If you aren't happy and still feel unwell you should go back to your Gp and ask for another opinion maybe?
