Nebuliser

Silly question but does anyone else find when they use a nebuliser the liquid turns to white powder and seems to cover everything.Regards.

There are no silly questions here. If you don't know, you ask. Unfortunately I have no idea of the answer because I don't use a nebuliser but I hope someone else can help.

Thanks for replying, Alan is on four a day and looking round now everything is coated with a white dust. Perhaps I am getting house proud in my old age. I wish. Ha Ha. Regards.

I have not experienced that. I have been using a Nebuliser for about 10 years now. Just wondering what medication are you using in your Nebuliser. Could it be salt deposit from a saline solution? Do you use a mask? Try using the mouthpiece? Otherwise, not sure.

If you are using a saline in your nebuliser yes it is the salt from that and nothing to worry about just wash it off the pieces its on after use

I have also used a nebuliser for many years and have never experienced a white powder but WheezyAnne's ideas sound sensible. Otherwise check the company that is making the medication. Generic medication can have some differences.

It is salbutamol he uses in the nebuliser. Regards.

Never had any white powder in my life, using both Salbutamol and Saline solution. Is it a super powerful nebuliser you use?

Just a normal one that we had given from hospital. Always appears when he as been on nebuliser. Checked today the nebs are well in date. Matron due tomorrow will check with her. Kind regards.

Yes, I use albuterol and a saline solution in my nebulizer and I use it in the bedroom. The bedroom always gets 'dusty' before the rest of the house.

Several years ago, I was using a "mucus mist" in my nebulizer and it had a sticky residue that covers everything and a sulfur smell. I would have to wash the curtains and shampoo the carpet often as well as damp wipe down everything else. Fortunately, I got switched to a salt saline solution that I think is causing the 'dusty' look.
