Just to let you know that I will be from a distance cheering you on today. To go from hardly being able to walk 35m to making this attempt just shows to myself and others that you can fight this disease. GOOD LUCK!

P.S Worked out what went wrong yesterday. Will make another go at it today.

No your not if you feel the need to make goals do it all about positivity what happened with your breathing yesterday did you panic ...i did 3.5 kms in 29 minutes today my legs want to jelly and I laughed that much at my hubby power walking I had to stop my timer lol he's got a lovely wiggle when he powers up bless him xx

No not panic, more like I lost my rhythm, so many paces breathing in, two paces hold, so many paces breathing out. As I went faster I lost my paceing and in the end my breathing.

in reply to Badbessie

Bless you ditto this morning when Andrew jogged on in front of me I just went to bits laughing at him lost my pace steps the lot lol x

Thank you. Breathing is everything. If you get that right then everything else follows. But it does take a lot of practice.

Spot on mate, congratulations. Yes you're right synchronised breathing is the key. I don't worry when it all goes to pot trying to talk, I just start off a new sequence going, trying to fit it back into the original pace causes confusion for me.

After reading your message Bessie, I decided to go for my daily walk and concentrate on my breathing, I don't know the type of breathing you do, I only know inhale count to 2 and exhale through PL and count 4. It really worked, I walked further than I have for a long time, a third of the way to the bench (my bench mark). So pleased with myself. Did you learn your breathing technique at PR. Thank you. Never done PR, I am on a waiting list. If you go onto YouTube I use a purse lip breathing technique used by Donna Wilson. It is slightly different from the one you use. With a slightly longer hold and exhale. As you breath in your heart speeds up and as you breath out it slows down. So PLB not only helps with breathing but also heart rate and blood pressure. My vital signs are much better when using PLB.

Thank you Bessie, I will have a look at Donna Wilson on YouTube. I hope you are having a restful afternoon after all your hard work today. Lilian xxxx
