Sending you healing white light T2D. A friend told me about this years ago and it never fails. I'm closing my eyes, thinking of you and bathing you in a cloud of white, healing light. You can't see the light but it will be there comforting you and encouraging you all afternoon. Be strong ! You, the you you used to be, is still there T2D and you are still capable of deciding to be as strong as you can, no matter how difficult the circumstances. Give it your best shot. I know you will.

What with BJ's healing white light and my protective golden light, T2d, how can you fail? :D Glad you're back home now, hope it was ok.

The receptionist completley ignored me when I answered with my name and date of birth and directed her questions to my husband grrrh

O2Trees profile image
O2Trees in reply to Time_2_drink

Then your husband needs not to reply for you. It would help if he doesnt make eye contact while the initial contact is being made then they have to talk to you - classic trick.

Anyway you left the house - congratulations. Hopefully next time it will be easier. :)

Try to visualise yourself leaving the house confidently, going to the hospital, and best of all walking out f the hospital and returnng home, so pleased with yourself that you have done this, and will do it again. Each time we conquer a fear, we are stronger, there is a quote 'the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself'. The bravest people are the ones who fear but face their fear anyway, if you are not afraid you are not brave, just fearless.

Hope there is some help in these words. Love Iris x

Well I got there and back in one piece mind you the receptionist completly ignoring me and directing questions to my husband did nothing for my self esteem maybe wheelchair rendered me invisible maybe I should have stood up and she would have directed them to me so oxygen and wheelchair not good combination it seems thanks for your words xx

Try not to think about 'leaving the house and going to the hospital'. Think of getting back home, putting your slippers on and having a nice cup of tea and some biscuits, while giving yourself a pat on the back for having been there, and done that! You can do it - it's just the the thinking about it that puts you off and makes you doubt yourself. Don't think - just do! That's what I tell myself, and when I listen it works- everytime!

Good for you! I knew you could do it. No need to wish for more confidence, it's there somewhere - you just have to believe in it. You did well👍🏻.

I always take any victory I can. When I caught another infection I said well not as bad as last time! Or if I did not walk as far as I normally do I think its farther then I walked two months ago. I try an think of something positive about even a negative situation. You have left the house gone to hospital OK you may have a chest infection but you dealt with it despite being anxious. Take some positive thoughts from that...its an achievement in your case to do it!

Badbessie in reply to Time_2_drink

We are all scared its only human when you have an illness like this. I control what I can and have a plan B when that fails. But I plan to keep fighting, take care.

Hey, I've just read some more of your posts. You did it! Good on you! The receptionist could do with a bit of re-training by the sound of it. Next time you go, tell your husband not to answer for you but to direct the receptionist to ask you the questions instead.

Well done for getting there!

xx Moy

Sorry I missed your post earlier. I completely understand how hard it is as I suffer similar and often feel like a rabbit caught in the headlights, especially when it comes to going out or doing something new. Take heart. Your not alone, be brave and play it down in your head. The first steps are always the hardest and the hospital is never fun, but I tend to feel better when it is all over and it is so nice to get out and see the sunshine once in a while, even if you have to force yourself. I'm sending you massive postitivity . Remember to reward yourself. I hope it all went well for you

Love Kelda

Well done T2D,really well done ! I completely understand how apprehensive you were about just leaving your house. Put a note in your diary when you have "to do something" and then say in one month's time, look back and see all the things you dreaded but somehow managed to push through the barriers. You may be very surprised when you read it back.

Anyway, today was a very good day for you(apart from the receptionist!).
