It is an article from 2012 but still gives good advice.

Better posture can lift mood.
i am laying down becouse i am old and dont care. but i will be reading this to my four sloutchs.
Then hopefully you will have to rename them as they will no longer slouch!
I slouch because my back hurts (spinal fractures) But I'm quite cheerful most of the time. OH slouches (scoliosis and other bak problems) But he's always been a grouch.
Especially for you (sorry!):
I had a spinal fracture
So have hurts in my back
So I am not really slouching
Although I do sit 'slack'.
My OH, in comparison
Has similar issues and ouches
This may be the reason why
He is known for slouches and grouches!
A salutary reminder! Thanks Toci. I have now moved myself from sofa to dining room.
Hello Toci. From a very young age I have always felt most comfortable sitting crossed legged. I have over the years tried to sit with my feet firmly on the floor. When alone legs crossed. Old habits die hard. Take care. xx
I'm in a bit of a bind, trying to decide which was the most helpful tip. When I've re-attached my head to my body and the ambulance arrives to pick me up after attempting to stand with one leg horizontal to the floor, I'll get back to you
I might just settle for sitting up a bit straighter and uncrossing my legs. No slouching here
I have been walking around today trying not to slouch.
My back hurts because I have had two spinal fractures in the past, but I have been trying to stand up straight anyway.
Thanks for the reminder
I've always been keen on good posture, it's easier to breathe if your back is straight. Also slouching is ageing! Can't do crossed legs though.
So have I, Hanne, but just lately..... I wonder if it is because leaning forward onto my forearms does help with breathing? And I can't manage crossed legs either!
Yes, definitely helps during an attack, it's intuitive isn't it? I think it's something to do with the diaphragm.
Talking about crossed legs...on a tv programme about ageing last year, Angela Rippon said, to check if you're ageing well: 1. stand up, & cross your legs at the ankles, 2. bend your knees & drop down to sit on the floor 3. keeping legs crossed, raise yourself from the floor until standing again. Is she having a laugh??? I tried it but fell over & hurt my knee before I got even halfway down. None of my "fit" friends can do it either, so if you're thinking of trying, Toci, my advice is - don't
I would manage to cross my ankles easily, after that, well...I could uncross them again but that's it!
