It sounds like a reflux problem and you should probably consult your GP because if it is he can prescribe something to help.

Post Nasal drip is when nasal secretions go down the back of your throat and make you cough. No connection with Gastroreflex, as far as I know. I suffered with it for a while. until I was prescribed Avymis, to squirt up my nostrils every night. It did the trick. so I would suggest you tell your GP. I have had sinus problems too, but once the post nasal drip was dealt with I was fine.

Believe it or not I'm experiencing it now it makes me cough half the night, had to go to three different doctors before I found out dead mod post nasal drip came from acid reflux, the proper name Gerd.... at the present I'm using Flonase and Allegra, as for the acid reflux well I can use the medication because it depletes my calcium from my body and I have osteoporosis and I definitely need my calcium. I had acid reflux last year around this time and I lost weight about 10 pounds and it went away, lately I've been eating and laying down gaining 5 pounds back, that's alright because I do know how to get rid of it. Good luck with yours and God bless feel free to reach out we are always here at Hu to give you proper information and moral support always

But I now realise I've had it a long time but it's never effected my breathing to this point before. Nite times were always hard can't breath thru my nose an had build up I have a my throat I have gained weight the last year due to meds 4 bipolar so that's had an impact. I'm trying to lose it now. Hello Poppy.

I had bad sinusitis in my left sinuses due to having a deviated septum. I somehow managed on medication for a bit but when I was getting my first lung transplant evaluation two years ago they told me I would have to get it rectified. So I had surgery to correct the deviation and they also improved the drainage. It is a lot better now though the surgery is not something I'd like to do again. For many people though it is manageable with nasal sprays and rinses. I do remember how awful it could be especially in the dry season and the when allergy season starts in spring. I sympathize. I hope your otolaryngologist can help.

Let us know how things go.

Take care.

Cas xx 😊

Yes your doctor can give you a nasal spray to stop it.

I have it. When I was diagnosed with asthma and bronchiecstasis that was one if the questions I was asked. When thinking about it I've had it for years and sometimes it's so thick it feels as if I'm going to choke!

So it seems it a common thing. I think I've had it a long time but just got on with it I didn't no there was anything that I could could b done. Thanx everyone I will look into it. I'm changing gp 2mrs as I put a complaint in the other day an cause of this Dr is being difficult an delaying my usual meds very stressful x
