The Value of Routine.

The things you have to do each day

To keep yourself alive

Can be easily be organised

To help you to survive

It's called routine and keeps you going

When the memory starts to falter.

So long a as most things stay the same

And very few things alter.

Arising in the morning

To make yourself some tea

You cannot find the teapot

Wherever can it be

So you go back and start again

Let routine do it's work

The teapots where it always is

And you don't feel such a jerk.

Thats good Don. I think our subconscious helps out alot with routine. Sometimes its pretty amazing how it takes over. Ruby🌷

Hi love the poem. I find the things I do subconsciously can't be remembered when I try and do them consciously. A good example of this is typing. I trained as a copy typist back in the 70's and it is firmly in my subconscious memory, but I can't for the life of me tell you where the letters are!

When I am typing my mind is on what I am having for dinner or something instead. x

That reminds me of how surprised I always am at the speed at which my GP rattles the keyboard. He is not a young man, close to retiring in fact, so it's unlikely to be a skill he has had for a long time.

Yes mine are fast too. Maybe they have to take a copy typing course these days :) x

When I first started working with computers in the 1970s I was convinced that GPs would have been replaced by computer software before now. I'm not entirely sure that they haven't!! lol
