Horsetail Grass?

Hi all. Has anyone any experience of using 'Horsetail Grass' which is said to improve the condition of the lungs in COPD patients? If so, are you using capsules or tincture, and how often?

Sorry. This is not something I have come across.

Good morning. I have not heard of this but I do have enough horse tail/mares tail growing in part of my garden to fill a bin bag in the Spring. If it can help my lungs I'm all for it. can ou tell us some more?

Sorry don't know much more really. My daughter was told by a herbalist about it. I have looked online and found several sites for alternative medicine, that talk about Horsetail Grass being able to repair to some extent the lungs of COPD emphysema patients. I found capsules of the stuff on Amazon, but other sites seem to suggest that a tincture is better. Still researching source for that. Unfortunately, haven't seen anything about using the plant direct. However, I would think that you could try an infusion or tea made with it but I have no idea how much or how often. You could look on line. Good luck.

Thankyou for your reply,

I had a quick look and it does seem that it may or may not work. I thought that something that has been on this planet for so many millions of years must be here for a purpose and not just to make me cross when I can't dig them out.. When my 56 year old Daughter was young I showed her how to split the trunk into sections and reconnect them again and she asked me once if I remembered them being huge trees when I was young.

homeremediesweb.com/horseta... This site talks about making tea under heading 'BRONCHITIS AND OTHER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS'. Happy boiling

Hi Jennifer

Don't suggest you start grazing just yet. I do believe Horsetail may be a poison.

Thankyou Tryfan.....no sign of anything yet, it's a bit early. I appreciate your advice:-)

Yes tried it as capsules filled with plant material, didn't help at all. Bought off ebay. I think it is supposed to be a good source of silica.
