Night Noises.

I lying in my cozy bed

The time is half past three

I hear somebody calling me

Whoever can that be.

It sounds a very long way off

Maybe I've misheard.

It could have been a roaming cat

A dog or else a bird.

I tried to get to sleep again

But there's murmuring outside

I can't see anyone out here

And there's nowhere they could hide.

I know until I sort this out

I'll never get some rest.

Then suddenly I realise

It's coming from my chest! :-o

I understand exactly what you're saying--DonR because the bronchial tubes can certainly make some pretty strange and weird noises and we hear them much better at night when everything is quiet around us. I loved your poem. Thank you. xoxo

It's a whistle and hum I can hear

But lo and behold

It's in my ear.

But my chest then joins in

And gets my head all in a spin.

Hi Don I love your verses.....so true. A nurse once said I had Polyphonic lungs...sounds very orchestral ....but I often look around to see where the noise is coming from, I live constantly with the tinnitus .

Thanks

So glad I read these posts as I too hear noises and yes they sound like voices sometimes ... now I know it is just 'me' that is okay ..... and yes I have tinnitus too which is noisy enough some days .... still never gonna get lonely lol xx

Knitter, I also have tinnitus to go with all the chest noises. Sometimes I don't know which bit of me is making the noise! Polyphonic lungs sounds rather posh, don't you think?

Hi DonR,

That's sounds familiar, you write so well , I thought that you were going to say that there was a burglar or something, I have just woke up finally got some sleep,

Wishing you a peaceful day

Those noises scare me, as I think there is an intruder. Then I look at George, blissfully asleep, and realise the noise is my chest. If a fly walked over the threshold he would know.
