Phoning the doctor?

I'm feeling rather poorly

An appointment I must book

Phone between half eight and nine

When we leave it off the hook. :-o

If your still not feeling well

Try again just after ten.

You'll get through but sadly find

All appointments gone by then.

I finally see the doctor

I think that he was there.

His monitor and keyboard

Are the ones that really care.

Once they've told him what to do

Prescriptions on it's way,

Directly to the chemist

Unless you have to pay.

So now I'm home, still sniffing

With poetry to pass the time.

It's cruel to treat me so badly

Especially making my rhyme.

I'm really not up to 'versing'

When I have a nasty infection

So doc please shape up your system

Or you will face my defection!

Haha, love it xx

Just turn up and say you are not feeling well

They will give you a glare and say

You don't have an appointment we can tell

But you are out of luck it sounds

As the emergency doctor is out on his rounds

Why can't all surgeries be like mine

At half past eight just stand in line

A doctor or nurse you will see

For cough or cold or poorly knee.

Oh Don, what have you done? All these rhyming replies! Very funny and quite clever too.

But, because I have things I must do, in plain prose - I'm sorry you woke feeling poorly and hope the meds kick in soon and get you back on track.

Take care and be well, Sue x

I haven't really been poorly, Sue, they call that poetic licence (ie telling fibs to try and make people laugh). In fact, since I got so much help from people on here, I've got my COPD under control and just need to do that for my diabetes now.

Well, that's good news! And it's good to make people laugh - helps us all remember we're there inside these crumbling breathless bodies. Now cut down on those lovely cream buns. x
