As a COPD sufferer I need to drink plenty of water.

But:

To pee or not to pee, that is the question.

Whether it is nobler in the mind to allow gravity it's demands

By frequent visits to that place where relief is to be found.

Or to deny all liquids to the chest after the bewitching hour

Which would otherwise assist in the dissipation of evil substances.

To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there's the rub.

Excellent Don! Very cleverly put, and something many of us can identify with I'm sure. :-)

Love it.

You have now set a precedent as the resident satirist.

Next one please.

Or maybe a competition?

in reply to Katinka46

Don't encourage me, you will regret it ;-)

What is this evil substance that I see before me

Which hath appeared without invitation

Up on my handkerchief of finest linen

Can it be the result of much huffing and puffing?

Is this what my endeavours have bought forth?

I fear it is.........but wait.

Is this not the success I seek,

I believe it is.

Oh joy.

You started all this verse up, Don

For us to think and ponder on

It's difficult for us to see

How you avoid the need to pee.

Thick mucus lying on the chest

Is bad...perhaps a pee is best?

in reply to Tee1008

I wandered lonely as a cloud

The bathroom door to seek.

The purpose of the journey

Was to take another leak.

Am I awake or still asleep?

I really cannot tell

But soon I'm back inside my bed.

Relieved, and all is well.

Zzzzzzzzzzz

With apologies to poets:

The quantity of mucus is not strained.

It droppeth, as does Niagra Falls, from heaven

Upon the hankie beneath: it is twice blest;

It blesseth him that coughs and him that spits out.

Brilliant, Toci. What poetic stirrings have been unleashed.

Just hope you're not on diuretics like me Don, as we men of a certain age face that mighty dilemma every night. Took my Nasal Vent consultant a while to understand why I only slept for 5 hours at a time

No I'm not on diuretics and I'm hoping to sort myself out without them ;-)
