Six and a half years ago when I was in a spot of trouble on ICU my daughter started Uni. On Wednesday I was at her Masters Graduation Day.

Got to say this was a pretty momentous day for me and my family. Sophie's our first university graduate and a Masters at that so were all very proud of her. It took a lot of oxygen, the wheel chair and a major effort from my wife Sharon to get me to Warwick but I wasn't going to miss this was I.

It seems a long time ago now that she was thinking of not going to uni because of the poor state of health I was in but I told her she has to go whatever happened to me. Well it seems we made the right decision :) . I'm still here and she's doing the job she was prepared to work so hard for. :) .

Sophie or HU (donkeyonthehorizon) also managed to raise £300 for the BLF when she run the Birmingham Half marathon a few months back. Many thanks to all who donated at such late notice.

I like the "spot of trouble", Tony, which I know from some other posts is something of an understatement! Well done Sophie, & congratulations to her proud Mum & Dad. You have a very talented daughter, who's beautiful both inside and out.

Who Hoo a chance to throw something at dad. Even if it is only a mortar board. You should consider yourself doubly blessed as it is not for just anyone I would stir myself from the pit of despair and sickness. The mouse is struggling and so is Tina. But you done good my hero.

What an absolutely wonderful day for you and your family. Well done to you all. It is lovely how you have pulled together as a family.

Thank you for all your kind words. As always, such a loving and supportive community on health unlocked!💙 You're correct in saying, my dad is amazing. It's been a hectic two years completing my masters but he's been there for me every step of the way❤️.

Also, thank you so so much for all the money donated towards my half marathon for the British Lung Foundation😊.

You are all incredible and through your shared experiences you support each other in a way that no one else ever could. It means so much to know that my dad has a place he can come when he needs to talk and I'm so glad to have the opportunity to be part of your wonderful community❤️.
