What happened to my post about PF?

Actually, I think I put it in the wrong place. I wanted to know if I should be taking a sort of maintenance dose of antibiotics, even if I don't have chest infections. My longer post explained all this in more detail but it's gone...Help!

I dont have PF but i am on an antibiotic called azithromycin which is meant to prevent exacerbation's .... its taken 3 times a week and a lot of us are on this but from what i know its only given to people who get a lot of chest infections

Hi yes mrsm is right. You didn't start a new post but put in a reply on jasm's post. This won't show up under your name but under jasm.

I don't have any answers though but am wondering why you want to go on an ab maintenance dose if you don't get chest infections? That doesn't make sense to me x

I agree, that'd be daft. No, I just wondered if I might be having chest infections without realising. Anyway, mrs. Mummy has reassured me.

Thank you for replying.

Oh I see. I think you would know if you had a chest infection as you would probably cough a lot and might feel ill. You would also probably cough up coloured gunk as well. If you have any symptoms like these make sure you get treated with ab's asap. x

Yes, I will. I just think I must be very lucky not to have had a chest infection since I was diagnosed 20 months ago. The consultant I saw first told me I had between 1 and 2 years to live. I did ask him. But in a way, I wish I hadn't.

I was told 3 years - 10 years ago - :P

They don't really know so forget it.

Ten years! That's amazing. You must be a really good person, and karma is working. Thanks for replying. Even if I don't make 10 years, I feel encouraged.

Not Karma so much as determination! I have no plans to go anywhere any time soon. Stay away from cigarette smoke, exercise, eat healthily and follow your doctor's advice.
