They are very expensive. Personally, I recommend a flutter device whiich you can get on the NHS. They. cost £54 to buy. My husband found it very helpful. He had lung cancer.

Thanks for the info. I do have a flutter but wondered if the aerosuremedic might be more effective. Food for more thought!

It is also known as a tumbler which vibrates the chest with a little resistance. It is a lot of money when it may be as effective to use Huffing techneque for free.

Be Well

I have an aerosure medic and I wouldn't be without it. It differs from flutter and acapella devices in that it has a motor. The motor creates the resistance which you breathe against to create the vibration which loosens the mucus. In the other two you have to make the vibration yourself by blowing the flutter or magnet. The huffing technique is always a very good thing to be able to do but sometimes it is just too exhausting when you aren't well. I have bronchiectasis. Everybody is different and especially with COPD the other devices may suit better.

Thank you for the info. I am able at present to cope with such as the Flutter but the idea of a motor to help is good to me and for how long will I be able....?

I use the medic device to help loosen the stubborn gunk, then I use my flutter to help get gunk out. It is expensive to buy, but anything to help clear lungs is a good thing. I have asthma and bronchiectasis so suffer from clogged up lungs x

Thank you. As I have so much difficulty some days clearing mucus it may be worth getting one.
