ANYONE any good at reading Heart Trace

Today my dad had ecg heart trace done I managed to take quick peek SPY stuff with my phone camera

Hi Jeff, I don't want to comment on the trace as I could get it wrong. I was thinking about your problems getting information about your Dad. You should just be able to instruct the docs to explain that to you for instance. Do you have lasting power of attorney for your Dad? If not, you need it whilst he is still able to understand what he is signing. That way you have complete access and control over his ongoing care and welfare. I have given this to my children. If you already have this point it out to the medics, social services etc. It's a very strong tool

Hi stillstanding, I have been looking at the forms on line to arrange lasting Power of Attorney ....it's much cheaper to do it that way.

My late parents used a solicitor, but my father had to be assessed to see if he was capable of understanding the process.

I think that even if you use the forms your Father will have to be assessed if he already has a diagnosis of some form of dementia. You will also need to register it with the court to make it legal. This can take some time and there is a fee. There has to be a third person informed that the power of attorney is being given and they have to have a copy and affirm that they received it. I know that solicitors are expensive but they do everything for you and then you know that there is nothing that agencies can say you did wrong. I think I paid about £500 including the court fee but I think it was worth it. However you go about it, it is worth doing because it gives you authority in looking after your Dad and more peace of mind.

I would recomend all of our members to make a lasting power of attorney in favour of someone they trust. We are all in a precarious position and if we become incapacitated without one our affairs can be put into the hands of the Court of Protection-which is anything but. They are notorious for holding on to people's money, making suspect decisions and charging huge fees.

This forum is not a doctor forum. Please don't ask untrained people to read your dads electrocardiograph. It puts your dad at risk.

This loads of trained professionals on here AND am not asking for diagnosis AM asking for opinion.

But as your asking YES the second rythen wave is showing flutter tacicardic and is heart is overhaul weak.

I think you like to analyze things. I do too. There are tons of electrocardiogram images on YouTube and such that you can look at. I soon found that these are too complicated for the layperson to understand much from though. Each of the 12 leads looks at the heart from different directions and sometimes the information for an abnormality comes from more than one of the leads. But they are very interesting. I do think you can trust that a doctor can see problem areas though.
