Vitamin D!!

Well i have been using for three weeks since two exasperations and chest infections and i think the victim in D has given me more energy and a lease of new life! I recommend it to anyone and even people have commented on how well i look (mind you i have been ill so bound to look a bit better)!

Have a nice Christmas everyone - all this panic buying and rushing around London seeing this makes me dizzy and i wonder - it's just for two days then it's over! What's it all about?

Anyway just got in laws for lunch and Boxing Day my partners grown up sons for lunch . My girls and granddaughter are at their dads this year - hey ho - but i'll get a visit from them Thursday and Friday which is nice. I've decorated the tree and got festive but to be honest will be relieved on Tuesday when it's all over.

Think i'll go on holiday next Christmas - somewhere hot πŸ˜ƒ

My tree sideways - goodness knows why it does this

I find Vitamin D helps, when I remember to take it.

How nice to hear you're feeling so well. I've heard about Vitamin D but I'm not sure πŸ€” how to take it. Tablet form? Or even the correct dosage. Maybe you could advise me, pepparuby.

Your Christmas tree πŸŽ„is stunning & I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time with family over the festive season.

Enjoy yourself, keep well & have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŽ„πŸŽπŸŽŠπŸŽ‰

Hi jessy11

The proper way to take vitamin D is when your doctor prescribe the proper dosage and in order to do that you need a blood test,if not you can take too much and get hardening of the arteries or kidney stones please contact your doctor before you do this

Thank you, don't worry I won't take anything unless my doctor has prescribed it. πŸ˜€

That's very interesting Ruth thank you. My clinical trials scientist lady said buy them from boots own make as they are not expensive and just take them through winter but i will definitely ask the GP too x

If you have access to Internet all you have to do is Google it. Vitamin D will only do you some good if your body is lacking vitaminD, or if you have a vitamin D deficiency other than that itcan harm you

Beautiful tree you have and I was able to save it and then turn it upright so I could see it better--don't understand why the pictures go sideways either. Christmas is a lot of work and I agree with you how nice it will be to get Christmas over with and back to normal. Try to enjoy your company and I understand why you have thoughts of going away next year. Hugggs

I was found to be deficient in Vit D and put on a high dose by my GP for two months followed by over the counter tablets for another 4 months - it's done the trick. My levels are fine again now and I feel better than I have done for a long time - not about to run any marathons, but then that would never be my bag, but much better in every way. I'd urge anyone to ask for a blood test to check their levels and take what action is advised.

Your tree looks beautiful!

My sentiments exactly, what happened to the true meaning of this day,it seems to have got buried under so many other things.

When they tested me in hospital and found I was Vit D deficient I was on it for 3 months then my GP made me have a blood test as I was about to run out and it was fine? But did not take in the fact I was taking Vit D so I should of been? He refused to reissue and I am awaiting results for the same again as he thinks I might be Vit d Low now DOH!

Be Well

Glad you're feeling much better. Sunshine is definitely what you need! Lovely way to get your vitamin D, lol.

Your tree looks lovely.....I do so love a pretty Christmas tree.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year. πŸŽ„πŸŽπŸŽ‰πŸ˜Š XXX

Vitamin D deficiency does seem to accompany lung disease and I have read that supplements might slow progression?

I take desunin 2 800iu daily - prescribed before lung issues were spotted. Just wondered what others do/think.

I have moderate COPD and I'm not on oxygen as of yet last year I remember I was feeling kind of yucky and I remember my fingernails breaking off easily and I took a trip to the doctor she did blood work the result was vitamin D deficiency she prescribed so many units of vitamin D for 3 months and plenty of Sun which was hard because it was January. I also have osteoporosis and I take citracal with vitamin D maximum strength therefore I was really reluctant to take the vitamin D that she prescribed for me but it was a low dose, 3 months later when the blood work was performed it worked so now I try to get as much sun as possible even though one of months I try to stay inside when it's very cold because the cold weather affect my COPD. I am 61 years old and I exercise as much as possible to keep it moving. ... sorry I didn't mean to make it a long drawn-out reply so thanks for allowing me to share and you have a blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year stay safe healthy and be blessed

Wishing you a Merry Christmas too pepparuby1 . Such a great tree! Enjoy all the family and afterwards have a well deserved break. Very interesting reading about the Vit D - is it just D or D3 ? I've been reading on another site,a man who has taken vit D3 for several years now and his lung consultant is now agreeing it certainly may help those with COPD or smiliar illnesses. His name is David Cummings- you may want to Google and have a read?
