As soon as I begin to feel myself 'coming down with something' I start to take things easy, make sure I keep warm, drink more fluids .....and reach for the lemsip! Don't know if it makes any difference but it makes me feel better to be doing 'something about it'.

Actually I'm with your wife on that one! A soothing Lemsip can make you feel so much better. The paracetamol in it will regulate your temp & the lemon is soothing on your throat.

Hope you're feeling ok 🌻

I'm sure it helped your wife a bit to feel she was doing something about it too.

To try to answer your question, if you're not comfortable out in the cold, turn round and get back inside. Have a soft scarf over your mouth and nose so that you're breathing in warm air. Not too tight!

Hope you're feeling better now.

I believe the advice is to not go out whenever the temperature drops below 6 degrees - but I cannot remember where I got this from.

Your wife is on the right track, lemsip does have ingredients that help breathing in some people, it works for me but take care as it contains paracetamol too. Always wrap up warm too on them cold nippy days, stop the cold air getting on your lungs. Hope you feel better soon...

It's very mild here today at 55 F. Makes a lovely change from feeling I am in the deep freeze first thing in the morning. On the advice of a gentlemen on here I bought a Buff - a fine silky tubular scarf thing that skiers and motor cyclists wear. You just pull it up over mouth and nose and it makes walking in the chill easier because the air is warmed slightly before it is breathed in. This is the one I bought. Worth it's weight in gold to me as an early morning walker. Lemsip is very comforting:-)
