Hi everyone i had the result of my ct scan today and i have the above and also a hiatus hernia which was a surprise. The doctor has given me a new inhaler called Incruse 55 micrograms. I just wondered if anyone knows anything about this as the leaflet of side affects is quite scary. Any info. would be much appreciated.

I read about Incruse on the NHS site. 30 doses cost £27..50 per inhaler, one dose per day. It says it's a powder and am wondering how you inhale a powder. When my daughter was small she had bronchial asthma, her powder inhalers used to make her gag. How are you getting on with it?

Have been taking Incruse for over a year now and haven't had any side effects. It is a powder which you inhale and hold your breath for a few seconds . You are then advised to have a drink to get rid of any residual powder in your mouth. Hope this helps.

Incruse is one of a group of inhalers which are designed to keep your airways open for 24 hours. I have bronchiectasis and have taken tiotropiam, which is another one of these, for many years. I have had no side effects from it. However, be vigilant for any changes from the beginning of taking this drug and be sure to go back to your doc if you notice any problems. I hope that it helps.

Yes community pharmacists operate a great service called NMS [New Medicine Service] to follow up patients who have been prescribed a new med. This is really good and should be popularised. So tell all your friends!!
I have had bronchiectasis for a number of years and use a different turbo haler in the morning. Advice given is to breathe out as much as you can to then inhale deeply into your lungs and hold it as long as you can.
It does make a big difference!!

I was using Incruse55 for a few weeks when I noticed my throat never cleared...went to see the COPD nurse...she changed my prescription to Incruse55/22...haven't had any problems since...no side effects.
I know we need to read these things about possible side-effects but remember it is for the most part the companies lawyers that write these things up and as lawyers they love to cover any situation that may occur so that they can say it's in the small print...that's their job.
I haven't heard of any problem with this medication.
No doubt someone on this site will have more information for you.

Hi, I use Incruse and Relvar for my COPD and I also have Asthma. I don't appear to suffer any side effects from this and have been on them for about a year. i just make sure to rinse my mouth well after taking them. I use mine the same way as the Ventolin inhaler. Took a bit of getting used to the powder at the back of the throat but all ok now.

Are they doing anything about the Hiatus Hernia Hubby suffered for years untill he was given amoprozol. (Can't spell that) he' never looked back. Best wishes Nan
When using an inhaler, you should ALWAYS use an airochamber with it. It's a clear tube that you put the opening of the inhaler on one end and your mouth on the other end. Then press the inhaler into the chamber and slowly breath in at the other end of the chamber.
By using the chamber, the med is slowly breath into the lungs, not strayed to the back of your throat.

my inhaler is the round type can you fit one onto this I'm not sure?
Hi sorry a airochamber is only for inhalers like the blue inhaler.
Somewhere along the way, I think when I was in the hospital a few years ago, I received an airochamber that is to be used with a round inhaler ( I must have been on a different inhaler med).
My inhaler now is oval, so my other airochamber is oval. I also have a small one that I keep in my purse with my inhaler, for when I'm out and about.
So they do make them round or oval.

When using the inhaler without the chamber, the spray hits the back of your mouth and throat. You don't have much of a chance to inhale it into your lungs, even when you inhale quickly.
With the chamber, the inhaler is sprayed into it, dispersing it as a vapor, then you can inhale it slowly into your lungs, giving the med a better chance to get deeply into the lungs.
You can get one at most medical supply stores. They would show you how to use it.

Hi Graham thanks for your message, mine is not called ellipta not sure if its the same one.
its green and round. First one today and so far so good I made sure I rinsed my mouth after so hopefully all will be good.
JanetJAM...my apologies...It wasn't a Incruse inhaler...It was Anoro Ellipta powder inhaler I use.😕
