Hi tinkz, I don't use Symbicort but if you don't feel right and are more breathless than usual I would ring your GP s surgery for advice.

Have you read the leaflet with Symbicort to see what the maximum dose is and the side effects.

Take care......I noticed that I couldn't get on this site for a while this morning....sorry you had to wait for a reply.

Thank you. Breathing is abit better now just abit shakey. I'm so fed up I feel like I constantly can't breath properly like I can't exhale fully and it's with me all the time, inhalers we're helping but now not as so much, everyone keeps saying I'm just anxious but I know there is something not right I have to breath so deep and force to exhale. all my back and neck muscles are sore. I had a Spiro which showed low fef's (small airways) but specialist wasn't to concerned, given I'm young but I'm struggling and it's making me so depressed. Sorry to be so doom and gloom I'm just sick of no one taking me seriously.

I can understand you being fed up and depressed, knowing something is wrong but not getting any help and it's easy to get into a cycle of breathlessness , anxiety , breathlessness.

You may be over breathing, which can sound silly when you are trying desparately to get a deep breath. ....but air cannot get in properly if there is air trapped in your lungs already.

Have you tried the pursed lip breathing technique.....breathe in very gently through your nose, then out for a longer time, but still gently through your mouth with pursed lips. Repeat a few times. Try and relax your breathing too......much easier said than done.....breathe low and slow, belly breathing with a relaxed diaphragm, not tight upper chest breathing..

And always try and breathe through your nose.....gently...not deep gulping mouth breathing , if you can.

Desparately trying to breathe is so tiring and frightening I know. ....especially if you don't know why it's happening

I hope you get a diagnosis and help soon.

Have a chat with your gp....You may be getting a chest infection if the bad breathlessness isnt common or may need a medication review.

Tinkz, is the only inhaler you have Symbricort? I think perhaps you should also have a short acting dilated type inhaler such as Spiriva....Do ask you GP about this, also as Mandy has said its possible you are getting a chest infection which is causing your Shortness of breath

I personally would not take more Symbicort than prescribed as this inhaler does contain steroids , and is a long activating dilator .....

Either way you should see your GP
