Any opinions on the medication Anoro?

Prescribed Anoro I was just wondering if anyone has or is using this medication and what your opinion is?

I've been on it for 2 years and I'm very pleased. It suits me to just use once daily and I've had no side effects. It's cheaper for the NHS - I think we'll be seeing a lot more of it. Hope it suits you too.

I use Anoro 55/22 found a great difference in the collection of mucus

At the back of the throat.

Can go most of the day withour coughing.

I,at least am happy with the help it's given me.

As usual we all have different reactions to medications,hope it works for you.☺

Its a powder inhaler I take once in the morning,was prescribed for COPD.

Been on Anoro for about a year,no side effects and no exacerbations either! No problems with it.

I was taken off Symbicort by the consultant & put on Anoro which did not suit me.

The instruction leaflet said you cannot feel it or taste it in your mouth but I could do both; the powder seemed to be sticking to the roof of my mouth & it tasted vile. Perhaps I was not inhaling it properly but before Symbicort I was on a powder inhaler, Spiriva, as I am again & I have never had any problems with that. I stuck at it for almost 3 weeks but my breathing got progressively worse so the Respiratory Nurse changed the inhaler for Serevent, which caused bronchospasm so she changed it again & I am now on Atimos. One inhalation twice daily & that seems OK.

I think you just have to try things, some work for you & some don't. I was quite surprised with the problems I had as I very rarely have problems with anything. I did wonder if it was because the COPD was getting worse & my lungs were becoming more sensitive but who knows? The nurse didn't.

Incidentally, I have never had a productive cough except during an exacerbation. I can't see why that should be relevant but as quite a few people who are happy with it do, I thought it was worth mentioning. Good luck ☺

Hi I asked about Anoro a few weeks ago was prescribed it by a consultant who said there were good reports about it,,',,I took it for 10days before deciding it was making me more breathless and did not feel well at all.

Now have a very bad chest infection so have went back to my usual spivira and fostair so will see what nurse says when I get an appointment so I wish you luck with it as you just need to see how it goes with you.

I have just been prescribed Anoro by consultant instead of Seretide as he thinks copd not the main problem, but bronchiectasis is. I have just changed hospitals due to our move, so he is going to give me a full 'MOT' to see what exactly is going on, which I am pleased about, especially as I also have congenital heart disease, and have just had the suggestion that I may have pulmonary hypertension as well. Meanwhile I continue to enjoy life and new home, and joined an art history class, which took my mind off everything else. So lucky to have a lovely husband, who has nearly finished his cancer treatment and is doing well, and dear sons and daughters in law. Little grandson also a delight. We are very fortunate not to have money worries and I feel grateful for all the good things of life
