Hi everyone, hope you are as well as can be expected. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried the inhaler "EKLIRA GENAUIR" I think that's how it is spelt. Wonder if its better than symbicort.

Hi, there doesn't seem to be a 'better' as each of us is so different that what works for one does not work for another. I could never get along with Symbicort for example. I hope this one works for you.

I am sick and tired this year of having my inhaler changed ,what are they expecting me todo ,jump over a fence? I am now on fostair next trying this for two weeks now

think some of its down to money as lot of the newer inhalers are cheaper

I can understand how you feel but I think they are just trying to get to the inhaler which will help you the most. I know my practice nurse stuck with me and I have been well(touch wood) for a year now.

I'm sure I read about this one a long time ago before it was on the market, I remember making a mental note of the name because it had such good reviews. Hope it suits you and works for you!😁🌸

I was put on this to take with my symbicort and found they worked well together but not on its own

I was put on this and it was horrible got a mouth full of powder and bits which made me feel sick I persevered for three days and then doctor changed me onto seebri which was a lot better to take .

Thank you all for your input, I shall probably stay as I am for now as I feel as if I'm in a good place and don't want to take the risk.

Having said that, there's always room for improvement (sometimes lots)

I couldn't tolerate symbicort so was given Eklira instead. Been on it for approx one year with no probs but don't know how effective it is because I never feel much different after taking it (but if I forget to take it I do feel more breathless eventually). Good luck with yours.

I hated Eklira. It was effective but such a mouthful of bitter tasting grit that I dreaded the second puff. Apparently many report this as an unwanted effect. Now on Anoro once daily and preferring it hugely.

Hi I take Bretaris Genuair 322 mcg twice a day. I was told by respiratory nurse that if you can feel the grit you are not taking the inhaler properly. I find no problem with mine I also take relvar Ellipta. And find them to be the best inhalers I have ever had. I know everyone is different.

Yes I have been on eklira genuair for 4 weeks. At the moment it seems to be working well. I have a follow up appointment with my consultant in October and will have another spirometry test then so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes I have been on eklira genuair for just over 12 months, although it does leave some residue after the puff I don't find this much of a problem, a mouthful of juice after clears it. It works well for me and the dose should be one inhalation twice a day, it is long acting and not a reliever.

Just as Toci said, its what works for you seems to be the right one. There seems to be so many inhalers on the market today and all competing to be No1, (not forgetting the financial gain for the pharmaceutical companies) but it would be nice if they could put money to one side for a while and perhaps come up with a guide as to which one is best and why. That's wishful thinking by me though.

I have been on the Eklira genuair for about 18 months and find it very easy to use and very effective so hope it works as well for you good luck xxx

I have been on Symbicort for years and about a year ago was put on Eklira to take as well as the Symbicort. My lungs are so bad I don't think anything works. I certainly don't feel any better with both of them. Perhaps if I stopped altogether I would notice the difference. I don't have any side affects from either which I suppose I should be thankful.

I did not know they were both steroids.
