Hiya, I've just finished the first inhaler and was wondering what people do people do with the finished inhalers, just chuck them in the bin or take them back to the chemist or what. thanks.

Mine doesn't have a cartridge but if it did I would also return to the chemist.

I just chuck mine in the bin. Never been told to do anything else. x

My pharmacy (Rowlands) offers an inhaler recycling service - I just hand mine over the counter as there is no collection bin for them.

Useful link jojam as I didn't know my local chemist recycled inhalers.

Thanks, unfortunately there is not one close enough to me. I have been putting them in the glass and plastics bin.

I pull the empty canister out and the put both the canister and the plastic carrier in the recycle bin. If there is still medication left in the canister I take them to my chemist.

I just put mine in the General rubbish, I've been using inhalers for many years and have always thought it bad that they couldn't be recycled, the plastic is the wrong type apparently, I'll look into the Boots recycling scheme though.

Other chemists also take part in the scheme

You are supposed to take them back to the chemist-it doesn't matter which one.!

Hi. Our local pharmacy has a recycling bin for inhalers. I usually wait until I have a few then drop them in. As Toci says though, I can't see any reason why you couldn't put them with other recycling (depending on what sort you have).

Hi Erica, I send my plastic inhalers back to the chemist for recycling. Take care, Maximonkey
