Hi all,
One month to go until IPF week. This year IPF week will start on 17 September across the UK and Europe, and we're focusing on research and hope.
In our latest report, The Battle for Breath, we found that IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) is even more common than we thought. Our research showed that around 32,500 people are living with the condition in the UK alone.
It shows just how urgently we need more research into causes, treatments, and improvements to care and support.
We’ll be:
•Spreading the word about IPF in the media and calling for more research
•Asking everyone to #knowIPF and recognise the symptoms
•Launching our new information booklet ‘Living with Pulmonary Fibrosis’
How can you get involved?
•Share our online breath test. So many people don't realise that getting out of breath more easily can be a symptom of IPF. You can find out about your lung health at breathtest.blf.org.uk
•Hold an event to raise funds and awareness for IPF research. Our events team can send you a fundraising pack to get you started blf.org.uk/take-action/fund...
You can find out more at blf.org.uk/support-for-you/... and we’ll let you know what’s happening through Health Unlocked, Twitter and Facebook.
We’d love to hear about your plans and see some photos!
Best wishes,
Ben
