Thanks. I have checked the web but still unsure as to use it or not. My COPD is mild and the spirometary test readings were good so the GP tells me. So she not happy to confirm COPD. But breathing in mornings is bad. So I am not really sure what to do. The seretide as helped with breathing but headaches are really bad. X

Hi

I changed from Seretide ( gave me tight chest) under respitory nurse supervision to Fostair NEXTHaler, to date no problems.

Try your sybmicot for a month to see how it goes, there are more alternatives.

I have always found the respitory team to be better when trying new inhalers, they have the knowledge and time to make sure you get the most suitable.

Sometimes a inhaler can do the opposite to what what it's intended purpose is.

Thanks for getting back. I am at a small GP practise and haven't really been offered any respiratory supervision. I will try new inhaler and hope for the best 😍X

Hi stone, I tried serevent years ago and that made my chest tighter too. Yet others are fine on seretide which is a combination inhaler.

Some people are fine with seretide, some are not - some it depends on the dose; and there is a whole range of POSSIBLE side effects. It's a combination inhaler, contains bronchodilator & steroid. Headache will likely be a side effect of the bronchodilator.

Was seretide the first and only inhaler prescribed? Are you on other medication?

You could try a lower dose if you aren't on minimum. And it's possible the headaches could subside after your body gets used to the bronchodilator effects.

I was given ventolin only at first but didn't really help then give. Seretide. Awful side effects, I felt like death yesterday. Not taken any since yesterday morning and I feel ok now. I need to think long and hard b4 using the symbicort. Not sure what to do really. X X

I was on Seretide for a year and was really ill with constant sore throat and generally felt unwell and out of sorts. Surprise, surprise it took me a year to realise that Seretide was causing all the problems. When I discontinued the Seretide my problems disappeared. I then took Symbicort and have been on it for more years than I care to remember, but without any problems. Give it a go.

I was using Symbicort for three years, then it was changed to Anoro Ellipta. Only problem I had with Symbicort was due to thrush in my throat.

Hi

I think from all the great replies I have had, it shows what works for some, doesn't work for all.

But rest assured I won't be using the seretide again. Can't tell you how I'll it made me feel.

Thanks for info
