Travel Nebulisers

Hi Folks, the boss has told me she wont let me come on holiday unless we get a travel nebuliser there is so many on the market that im unsure which to go for, has anyone bought and taken one on holiday and give some advice please.

Hi Gary, I have an Omron Micro air.....I bought it years ago from Evergreen nebulisers, but I only use it in emergencies not for everyday .

It is very small and light and runs on AA batteries....I always keep spare batteries in the case as they can run down quickly.

I used to have a large blue portable nebuliser which had a rechargeable battery, but replacements were no longer available and it was heavy and bulky to carry.

The people at Evergreen are very helpful and knowledgable , but if you contact them I guess you would have to buy your machine from them.

My pharmacist sells mains operated nebulisers....perhaps your local chemist could advise .

My micro air pumps the medication through very quickly ...this can make me a bit light headed sometimes....my mains one is much slower. But again I only use them in an emergency not on a regular basis.

Maybe the BLF helpline could advise ...I hope you manage to go on holiday! Best wishes

As others have said the Omron micro air is also what I use. I have 1 at home and 1 I keep in the car. I also have used the company evergreen who are helpful.

Evergreen also sell a good pulse oximeter Bevvy - very accurate, none of this "calibrated within 3%" malarky. I checked mine against my GPs one, and the one at my regular PR maintenance session and its spot on.

I have had nebulised meds along with IV antibiotics but never at home. I was told they are used in hospitals bucause they are less labour intensive than intensive inhalor treatments. Also hygeine issues, I don't think this is a view held by all professionals. x

I have a Omron which I keep with me always in a pocketing my hand bag, I only use in emergencies and on holiday but gives me peace of mind after breathing difficulties while out a few years ago. Expensive but worth every penny, and very quiet

I have 2 Omron Nebulisers. One is the small micro-air which is an ultrasound nebulisers, so I great for ventolin\salbutamol. The Other is an Omron C30 which is a compressor type and I can use that for both ventolin and Budesinide. If you need some great advice, look at the evergreen-nebulisers.co.uk website. They stock the Omron Nebulisers and all the spares, and delivery in the UK is very very fast. Also their prices are ex VAT so can work out cheaper. Their telephone number is 01942 701210. I have a NE-C30 Compair Elite Portable Compressor Nebuliser bought via Evergreen-nebulisers.co.uk. It can run both on mains and on a battery and is easy to set up and use.
