No not giving in Kimmy59. Just making life easier take care

Ah Kim - no, never giving in - just making use of all these wonderful things to help you to be stress free and independent.

I don't think you are giving in. You are using things available to you to give yourself a better quality of life.

Oxygen - everybody uses oxygen, you just need a bit more of it than most people.

Mobility Scooter - people use cars, buses, trains, bikes and aeroplanes to get around. You just happen to use a mobility scooter.

Stair Lift - well, I can think of loads of people I know that don't have lung problems that would benefit greatly from having a stair lift. I luckily live in a bungalow otherwise I would also need a stairlift.

If you were giving in you wouldn't be using any of the things you mention. You are enjoying life as best as you are able.

Hello Kimmy. You are definitely NOT giving in. Please don't think that way. We all could do with help in one way or another and there's no harm in it. The only time you would be giving in is when you stop enjoying life.

Sending love and light.

Not giving in Kim just getting the help you need to take the strain out of life. Why not. Good for you and hope you feel all the better for it too.

Take care and wishing you well. xxxx

No you are not giving in - you are making good decisions to ensure you can make your life easier darling. Not giving in! Putting up a bloody good fight! (Please be careful with the lift - make sure you are properly belted in). Take good care and enjoy your new freedom xxx

You are not giving in. You are being practical and working out what you need to keep going. We all need a bit of help with some things. Take care.

Felt like that when I got my blue badge - disabled! The beginning of the end. But on the other hand, no it was the beginning of something different. Giving in is taking to your bed and facing the wall.

Why spend your precious energy struggling up stairs when you can sail up in style, everything that needs to go up piled on your lap, and save your energy for what you want to do?

Take care, Kim. Love, Sue x

Aw. Look at it another way kimmy, it saves some energy to use on something else. Perhaps a little bit of gentle exercise from a chair?

All the best to you and Bravo for 'giving in', very wise. P xxxxx

No Jimmy your not giving in your just making life easier. Think of it like using a knife to cut up your veg without the knife life would be very difficult. I think the more gadgets you have to help means you have more breath and energy to live your life xx

Hi Kim I have the stair lift and oxygen and without them I would have a very difficult life with no energy left to do much at all. I love my stair lift, not having to huff and puff and being able to take stuff upstairs without stressing.

My oxygen is my lifeline I can go out shopping and visiting my family instead of relying on them to come, without it I would struggle just to get out to my car I LOVE them both.

Enjoy your extra energy.

take care

Ahh! It'll make your life a little easier and that's the most important thing. I downsized and moved to a bungalow about 8 years ago so a stair lift won't ever be on my list. 💐 X

Hi Kimmy, I remember a couple of years ago crying in hospital when I thought I might have to have oxygen, fast forward two years and we have oxy 24/7, mobility scooter, stair lift is the next thing. No more tears, it will make life so much easier, as I expect you've found, I'm a tad jealous! Enjoy your stair lift. Love S Xx

Thank you to everyone, just being a drama queen. I'm used to it now and its very useful for other things. I can recommend Brittania stair lifts and 1400 was a good price.

I'm glad its helped you as well John.

What right have they got to decide when you need things its not them struggling.

I dreaded going out so my husband got me a wheelchair, then he had a heart attack (not related I might add) when he was better I felt guilty him pushing me, so he talked me into have a Mobility scooter wish I had done it earlier. Now I can go off shopping then meet up with him.

Hi , thank you for your reply ,I have always been a active person ski - mountain bike long walks until i developed this problem , at 71 - my wife is brilliant at looking after me , just want to help relieve the work load , looking after me . I have all the equipment or lucky enough to be able to get it if needed- I think i will have to face it and start using the help available - but there is nothing like talking to other people in the same position - as much as your helpers have your health at heart , they cannot know just how bad it is for you . thanks again i will try to use any help that comes along in future , Good Luck , John
