Telling the BLF what you think

Hi all,

I’m currently recruiting for new members of our Patient Think Tank.

“What’s that?” I hear you ask.

Excellent question!

The views, concerns and ideas of people affected by respiratory conditions are at the heart of everything we do at the British Lung Foundation. When we’re planning new projects or campaigns we ask people with lung conditions to tell us what they think.

Every other year we will recruit a new panel of 20-30 people from across the UK to form a Patient Think Tank. They give suggestions and feedback about new ideas for work, policies and possible changes being carried out by the BLF.

We’ll have one meeting to get to know each other (although we understand that not everyone will be able to make it) and the rest of the time we communicate by group email. That way it’s easier for everyone to get involved.

If you’d like to apply for a place on the group, you can fill in an application at surveymonkey.co.uk/r/YSW7F5L

Applications close at midnight on Sunday the 22nd of May.

Give me a shout if you have any questions!

Thanks for reading,

Bethany

Hi Bethany, I would like to be involved but need to check something with you before applying. Is living in Ireland a deal breaker ?

Hi BillyJean. Is that the Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?

I want to involve people from all over the UK so I definitely want Northern Ireland to be represented. If you're in the Republic of Ireland then it's not likely to be as relevant to you I'm afraid.

I partly guessed that Bethany, which is why I checked with you before applying. So, no worries that's fine. But don't underestimate the relevance and importance of BLF to the many members who live in other countries. I follow every development with interest and this forum is my biggest support in dealing with my illness. BLF's sphere of influence spreads way beyond the UK. Best of luck with the project.

Hi Margaret,

Sorry about that. I do have a response from a Margaret, so I think I've got your details!

If you want to send me a personal message with your surname then I can check that it's definitely you. I'm out of the office now until Friday though, so I might not be able to get back to you straight away.

Thanks for filling it in!

Bethany
