Hi caz. I think I would trust my Doc more than the travel company to decide which medication I should be on! Lots of inhalers are used for more than one chest condition and some are used where they are unlicensed but work for that particular patient. I would be telling them to check with my Doctor. Have a lovely holiday!

hi david  we are getting there with the bungalow still missing the old house , getting bits done in the garden I put up a cheap plastic walk in greenhouse from wilkinsons was only £25.00 hope to maybe get a proper one next year , but I got it full of flower seeds all now coming through , got all the flower borders dug now waiting for the grass seed to germinate its been cold here uptill Saturday so its just been sitting there hopefully if its going to be a nice week it will start it of , I expect you will miss doing the garden , it was one reason we moved so garden would be easier to look after once its all done it wouldn't  take to much to look after it but still give me something to do ,

Hi

Fostair was original licensed for asthma, recently this was extended to include COPD moderate to severe.

I recently change from Seretide to Fostair NEXThaler under the supervision of my Respitory nurse, I had a months trial, as I found it to be better I stayed on it, Have been using for three months and find it more suited.

Extract from NICE Guidelines

Fostair is a combination inhaler containing beclometasone and formoterol which has been licensed for asthma since 2007. In April 2014, a licence extension was granted for the use of Fostair in people with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and a history of repeated exacerbations, who have significant symptoms despite regular therapy with long-acting bronchodilators..

I'm on fostair for copd/asthma but no heart problems. tend to think they don't know what they are talking about.

No ! Toci is right.  I hae copd and was on something else before Fostair but it made me poorly.  Fostair works miracles for me.  They are not your Doctor.

Enjoy your holiday :-)

I've got to agree with everyone here, Fostair is fine for copd so long as it works for you. I've been on both seretide and fostair and I don't have a heart condition or copd. I do have poorly controlled asthma, bronchiectasis and severe (inhaled) allergies. I was on the seretide years ago for my asthma but started to suffer heart palpitations on it after taking it for 6+ years. Only just started the fostair after having a nightmare time on duo resp spiromax (?). Was only on that because of stupid practice taking away my Symbicort.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

I've been on Fostair for over a year and I am stage 4 COPD prescribed by a consultant so think they might know more - as others have said - than a travel company.   xxx

My Seretide was changed to Sirdupla a few months ago. My asthma coughing increased to full time on it. The respiratory nurse changed it to Fostair. She explained that it's licenced to increase dosage when needed and drop to lower dosage when feeling well. That suits me very well as I'm always much better in summer months.

I've now been on it for three weeks and finding it great.
