I WAS ALSO WONDERING 2 MORE THINGS ...1) DOES THIS EMPHYSEMA /COPD CAUSE YOU TO FEEL VERY LIGHT HEADED ESPICIALLY WHEN IM WALKING.. KINDA LIKE IM ON A BOAT? 2: CAN YOUR PFT NUMBER DROP IN 1 YEAR FROM FVC105% TO 87% AND FEV1 FROM 98% TO 81% and fev1/fec 93% to 92% .. ???

Hi Dennis I can't say that I have felt light headed but definitely really tired and no energy,when I got to this level with my COPD I was put on oxygen my sats dropped down to 78 when walking. I was on oxygen for 15hrs  a day it really helped me. Hope you find the answers you are looking for. Love Sue

Hello Dennis, 

have you had your bloop pressure taken recently, you need it taken when you are sitting and when you stand up, it may show its dropping , ....that will make you feel light headed, and giddy.

I feel light headed when I've overdone physical activity and not taken Ventolin to help.  Not enough oxygen in the system.  People tell me my face goes very pale and instruct me to stop and sit down.  It happened once when we were moving furnishings out of church, and last Saturday when I took part in a voluntary litter-pick.  I'm learning not to push myself so far - and to take the Ventolin more.

As velvet55 suggests you need to get blood pressure checked. Feeling light headed is generally a sign of low oxygen supply to the brain.

Hello - Yes I sometimes get a bit lightheaded especially after a session on my nebuliser and getting up from being seated for a while. Not a nice feeling!

Yes light headed when over doing it at pulmonary rehabilitation caused by my sats dropping just have to take it easy a few minutes and turn my oxygen up.

My doc keeps an eye on my numbers, so I can't answer the question on the levels, but the dizzies I think are because your lungs don't push out the carbon dioxide like healthy ones do.Did they show you the breathing exersizes?( sorry, I am not much of a speller).You can google those and it helps the dizzies.

I do not usually get light headed. However my FEV 1 went from 104 to 63 in two years, before i knew i had bullous emphysema. Take care!
