Hi there, for my COPD I sometimes used to purchase from Boots OTC tablets called Chesteze these bronchial dialators that helped you breath more easely. These tablets are not made anymore does anyone know of anything similar to these. That can be purchased?

Kind regards

Joseph

Sorry i can't help you. I only take thing that are prescribed. As I have other medical conditions. And I wouldn't know if they would affect my other medication. Hope someone comes on who can help you

HI JOSEPH.....I WAS A KEEN USER OF DO-DO TABS FOR OVER 40 YEARS...SO, I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED, WHEN THEY WENT OFF THE MARKET...I TOOK THE TIME, TO EMAIL THE COMPANY WHO ACTUALLY MADE THEM....SADLY, ONLY TO BE INFORMED, THAT THEY WOULD NEVER BE GOING BACK TO MAKING THEM AGAIN.

Did the Company say 'why' they had stopped making them? Is there something about Do-Do and Chesteze that is contra-indicated to other medicaments?

Hi Joseph, my freind used to use DO DO tablets for Asthma, not sure you can still get them though. Most flu/ cold remedies contain bronchial dilaters. Some things like ginger do so also, worth looking up the herbal effects they are expensive though. Some foods cause bronchial restriction too. So needs some research as to your individual best solution. Good luck, enjoy your weekend. regards Kate

Thanks Katie, I don't think you can get them anymore, I just wondered if there was an alternative tablet choice.

I've just googled several online pharmacies and Do-Do tablets are listed as either out of stock or no longer available.

I have not found either Do-Do or Chesteze on-line anywhere. If you have, please advise where. Please.

I had not heard of these tablets, so I have looked them up. Please can I suggest you are very very careful as they contain Theophyllin.

Thank you, WheezyAnne a Very Good Point you make. I am using various other medicines so, in the event I find Do-Do tablets I must be sure they don't conspire against them before use and bump me off!

They also have Ephedrine in as well as Theopyllin and Caffiene, they may not mix well with other drugs and will certainly raise your heart rate.  Check with your doctor.

I used to get bottles of 'Ephedrine Elixir' from Boots before I found Do-Do. However modern medicines have, I suppose, supplanted these over-the-counter self-help 'cures'. Now I am 'on' a twice-daily 'puff' of Sirdupla. This keeps me OK for the most part though I have to occasionally revert to a Do-Do. I have one tablet left!!!!
