Hi, I'm confused everyone..... A while back ( 2013 ) I had a ct scan and was told the results were normal. I have suffered severe breathing difficulties since 2009 but I've had asthma since I was a child! Then in 2015 I was sent bk to a specialist who looked at my scan from 2013 and they said oh what treatment have you received for your Bronchiectasis? To which my reply was I was told that that scan was clear..... So they gave me 3 new inhalers on top of the ones I'm already in and I was sent for another ct scan....... When the results came back I was confused they said I had bronchial wall thickening not consistent with Bronchiectasis!!!! As the sputum samples I had given were clear!!!! (I never gave any sputum sample!!!) I'm suffering badly I'm on 8 steroids each morning I'm 34 years old I cannot go out most days I constantly cough up phlegm! Wake up choking until I've brought up a lot of clear thick white phlegm!!! I've had to resign from my job! My gp has referred me bk to the specialist again as she said they need to find out why I have bronchial wall thickening and that they shouldn't have just signed me off there books saying just that!!! Does anyone else have this!!!

Hi Monroe, I have just been rereading your previous post and my replies!

You still seem to have got no further forward with your treatment.

Have you been tested for Candida or Aspergillosis or Alpha 1 deficiency( I hope I got that right)

Have you rung the BLF helpline for advice.

Some of the members here have been referred to specialist hospitals such as the Brompton...hopefully you could be too, especially as you are so young.

My breathing got worse recently so back on a higher dose of pred. but when I told the gp that one of my inhalers didn't agree with me , she said that only happens with babies under one , not of someone your age.

Could you ring the BLF today as a first step ..Asthma UK also have a helpline.

I know it's difficult to fight your corner when you feel so ill...can your husband try and push for more help for you.

Anxiety and breathlessness often seem to go hand in hand...I was given Seroxat for my anxiety but that just made me vomit so not much use to me , but others on this site take different medications to help them cope.

Thinking of you.

Thanks for your reply!! I am at my wits end I don't seem to be getting anywhere and it's getting me very low and depressed, I'm that bad most days my husband has to come and sit in the bathroom with me whilst I shower! And that is very hard and embarrassing for me to admit! All I now know is is that I have bronchial wall thickening that's not consistent with Bronchiectasis!!! Nothing more so now my doctor is rereferring me AGAIN I'm at my wits end I'm currently getting dressed to go to the hospital for a nebuliser as I cannot sleep properly due to the steroids and my chest are burning when I breathe!
