COPD course?? What is that? Do you mean a pulmonary rehabilitation course?

Yes, a Pulmonary Rehabilitation Course.

Walking three times a day sounds good to me. Anything that gets you moving has to be beneficial, and you are so lucky to have such a helpful nurse who has the time to sit and talk to you.

All the best,

Jennifer

Thank you Jennifer. I am really lucky to have such great help. I hope you have a lovely day. It's raining here in Bristol but mild.

No chance of a fine day here now on the Irish Sea coast vere! We got back from our early morning walk at 7.45 and got drowned the last ten minutes - and winds of around 55 mph aren't helping even thought the temp is around 50F. A day for indoors and cleaning the cooker....doeasn't get much better than this does it.... heh heh

May I ask of you don't suffer too much with SOB whilst walking your dogs? I've also been unlucky of recent months in that I suffer quite badly from panic attacks and anxiety. This comes on when the thought of just moving and needing to use my oxygen etc etc and it triggers the panic etc. Do you have anytime s when you feel like this at all?

Hi

I have had asthma since a child and the worst case scenario for me would be to be without my ventolin inhaler. Then I would panic and everything becomes so much worse. So I do know what it is like to panic but I have learned to try and overcome this by using a programme called Headspace.

My COPD doesn't sound as advanced as yours but can be quite severe at times but as long as I make sure to heed the warning signs and start taking my steroids and antibiotics, (touch wood) I seem to nip it in the bud.

Dog walking is great because you stop and chat with others so you don't have to be walking all the time.

You all should get a pulse oximeter to keep as check on your 02 levels. You can get one from Amazon for about 15 pounds upwards.
