I would like to ask if any one has been to Manchester to meet the transplant team, or has had lung transplant there. I know it's a long process. I think I'm scared to look into it on line, as there is so much different information.
Many thanks

I havnt been to Manchester but i have been to Harefield transplant unit for an assessment and i would think they are pretty similar
The first time you go its for a day ...you will be met by one of the co-ordinaters who will put you at ease and explain whats going to happen......they take lots of blood samples and the usual sputum and urine......then you get xray, scan, and full lung function
Thats pretty much it and you will chat to the doctor in the afternoon who will answer your questions....If all the results come back ok and they feel transplant is right for they will ask you to go back for a 3 day assessment.
