Sleep sodden!

As so many people kindly offered help, support and advice I hope you don't mind if Inreply to you all in one place. Slept all night woke at 7, had breakfast, sat down on sofa to look at paper and have just woken up! that is why I rarely take even half a Lorezepam as knocks me sideways for 12 hours. Both my sons are fiercely anti it ,so I don't tell them but I am pretty sure they check the box periodically to see how many are left. Lol. Watched Tai chi video, thank you not sure whether there are any classes locally as out in the sticks but will investigate. Never thought as hot chocolate as stimulant, just as a nice relaxing soothing drink but will try honey milk from now on. It is the simple tips that are often the most beneficial. God I love this site and all the gentle helpful people on it.

Hi Snodgrass, glad to hear you had a restful sleep. It makes such a difference to how we feel, doesn't it?

You obviously needed the sleep after having so many disturbed nights.

It's a beautiful day here on the West coast of Scotland. Looking out its like a summer's day. Sun is out, no clouds & really quite mild.

Funny how the weather changes so quickly!

Have a nice relaxing day 👍🌺

Sounds glorious. Have never been to Scotland although would love to. I am a typical southerner and get vertigo north of Watford Gap. My late husband was quite a lot older than me so served in Second World War and in a typical army organisational foul up he was posted from Dorsetshire regiment to the Black Watch, he was so proud of his 'mob' and they even provided a piper for his funeral. He reckoned he was a shropshire Scot.

Oh Snodgrass that's a lovely story. Sorry to hear you have lost your husband but you still have good memories.

Scotland is a beautiful country but so is England.

My daughter & her family have lived in England for years. They're currently near Cambridge but have lived in Telford in Shropshire.

Enjoy your day 🌺

My daughter used to live there but she's in Cambridge now 👍

jessy your lucky been snowing on and off all day hasn't layed only 2 degrees all day now blowing a gale here and trying to snow again ,

Jessy11 profile image
Jessy11 in reply to mmzetor

Malcolm, it's been a beautiful day but it's getting cold now. There's snow on the hills but because I'm on the beach the sea water helps a bit to keep it away.

I like the snow to look out at but I don't like driving in it! ❄️☃❄️☃❄️☃❄️☃

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Jessy11

dawn don't like driving in it either unless she really have too , but I normally drive she has got to drive tonight as she arranged to go to bingo but its not settling ,

Jessy11 profile image
Jessy11 in reply to mmzetor

Tell Dawn to take it easy on the roads. It might be icy when she gets out the bingo. Tell her good luck for a big win! 👍

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Jessy11

I will do , we are lucky with the roads living out in the country side as we are on a bus route they salt them all the way to wear she is going , we just pull out of our drive and the road outside is done if fact they just went passed half hour ago , lot of the villages aren't so lucky even the towns

Jessy11 profile image
Jessy11 in reply to mmzetor

Yes you're lucky, so if it ices over there's grit down to help.

Our main roads get done & they do grit the beach road leading to the hospital. ❄️☃❄️☃

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to Jessy11

County Council does main roads here but all the side roads in village became impassable until the 2 Parish Councils got together to buy a small gritter to do them. Such a difference, as we are right on top of hill I often couldn't get to work because couldn't get out of own road.

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Snodgrass

its the county council that do our village road but not sure for how much longer with all the budget cuts

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to mmzetor

By law they have to do all A roads and they can't get out of it!

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Jessy11

it was pize bingo at a village hall she should soon be home now , I haven't been able to get on internet most of night been playing up a lot lately in evenings I don't know why I pay them well I don't dawn do as I hardly use the internet but you know what I mean

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to mmzetor

Who is you Internet provider? Mobile phone hardly works in village that is with O2

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Snodgrass

we are with bt its through the phone line not with the mobile

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to mmzetor

Talk Talk is phone and Internet provider. Have O2 for mobile as son chose and pays for it! Only trouble is he chose a mobile with no coverage in the pub which suits him but we are quite close to pub so mobile only works sporadically. Have to use landline.

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Snodgrass

I have Tesco for mobile when first got it we could get tesco mobile internet in the house for three days then it wont pick it up will ring and text ok but when contract is up im going else where , loads of places it wont pick up internet

Jessy11 profile image
Jessy11 in reply to mmzetor

Hi Malcolm, maybe Dawn will have had a win on the bingo tonight!

It might be the weather that's causing the Internet to play up. How's your snow? Anymore fallen? ☃❄️☃

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Jessy11

she won a merkat toy for the car , no more snow its very very windy and dry now

Jessy11 profile image

Jessy11 in reply to mmzetor

mmzetor profile image
mmzetor in reply to Jessy11

dawn had two of the snow globes she had then on each side of the mantle piece her nan bought them a couple of years ago I knocked one off putting the Christmas decorations up and smashed it which was a shame as a matching pair so I will have to see if I can find one on ebay to replace it

Jessy11 profile image
Jessy11 in reply to mmzetor

Malcolm that is a shame but yes you probably will be able to get one on eBay 👍

Glad you finally got some decent sleep Snodgrass. I take Mirtazapine for the same reason - i take half of the smallest pill (it comes in three strengths) and its enough. May be you could cut your Lorezepam in half again? Its caffeine in chocolate which keeps you up btw. Hope you get a good sleep tonight. :)

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to O2Trees

Hadn't thought to cut in half again, have pill cutter so will try that, won't use regularly as think I would become reliant too easily but like to know it is there if needed.brespiratory nurse has just been, pleased with progress so far!

O2Trees profile image
O2Trees in reply to Snodgrass

Ah, Ive learnt something useful (often happens on this site!) I didn't know pill cutters existed. I'll ask my pharmacists. Cheers :)

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to O2Trees

GP recommended one for cutting steroids when reducing dosage, it is a little plastic box with a blade and lines in to hold tablet in place, so much easier than knife as usually lose at least half when knife goes through.

in reply to O2Trees

If they can't help 02 try your local vet - seriously ! The one I use is from my Vet. 😹

O2Trees profile image
O2Trees in reply to

That's very cool Helen, thanks :)

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to

Classic, only in England could you rely on the dog Dr rather than the human kind! Lol.

in reply to Snodgrass

Well, if my cat has a Blood test Snodgrass I usually get the result back the same day. My husband often used to say he should go there rather than the GP or the Hospital !!!!! 😿😹🙀

Snodgrass profile image
Snodgrass in reply to

I was treated by a vet once after a nasty fall from a horse and damaged my kidneys, hospital said he had probably saved my life! All in all they seem more understanding than Drs, sadly you can't registervwith a vet though.

velvet55 profile image
velvet55 in reply to O2Trees

Hi O2

You can also get one at Azda at the pharmacy counter, very good and very easy to use...works for all size pills, and auto magically drops the two halves into a little container underneath.
