Quite happy to be back at the gym today. Did quite well and only coughed twice. Some lovely new machines in our gym and you can browse the net whilst using them. Did really well just hope I don't ache too much tomorrow.

Good night everyone.

Hi Sian

If you are aching it is a good sign that you had a good workout. Keep it up, it will only do you good.

Oh well done you! I'm quite envious. I've not done that yet since my move. I will for sure (sooner rather than later? I dunno, I gave myself whiplash the other day) .

I do admire you. 👍👍

Hi Sian my friend who also has COPD has been told to walk on the tread mill her COPD nurse said it was the best exercise, so well done for going to the gym

Very tired and a few aches. I do 15 minutes on treadmill walking up a steep hill. Then I do 15 mins on the stepper or ski walking machine - both of which nearly kill me. Did the stepper on Friday and didn't get very far but good to be back. The weight machines were great but find my right arm - funnily enough as I am right handed is weaker than the left. Quite often on a weight machine I found that I could .ift with my left arm but needed much more effort to move the weight with my right arm - an never went as high as 5 kg usually 2.5 and 1.5 kg. where I used to lift 10 or 15 on most machines 2 years ago. I am sure will get better so long as I keep going. Sitting here with my tea wondering whether or not to go today. Think I should.

Have a nice restful Sunday everyone.

Sian

Well done Sian

You are a trooper 15 mins! I remember starting on 3 mins but built up with small increments to 45 mins.

Not been to the gym since my move but am making a consious effort to build more exercise into my daily routine.

Squats while the kettle boils. Take one thing up and down stairs and whilst waiting for a lift the other day I did 'steps' on the curb. When money permits I will be back in the gym and doing my classes. Exercise builds muscle which we start losing 40+ the more muscle we have the more fat we can burn without any effort as the effects of exercise last 24 hrs after we stop. So you will be burning fat in your sleep LOL.

I love the ache 'burn' after a workout. All those endophins rushing round spreading the feel good factor.

Darn that's motivated me do do some exercises now

Take care and keep it up.
