Feeling dizzy

Does anybody with copd have dizzy spells sometimes I think I will pass out if I don't sit down.

Could it be when oxygen level is low?

Yes, it could be that your oxygen levels are low. Do you not have them tested regularly? But it could also be a symptom of something entirely different. I think we all tend to blame COPD for all our ills. Better get it checked out to be on the safe side.

Hi Mojo, please don't presume it's COPD to blame. It could be low oxygen but it could be something entirely different.

Have a word with your GP who can test you & prescribe meds if need be.

Hope you feel better soon 🌻

Hi I get the occasional spell of dizzyness sometimes but it passes in a few seconds. I do get it more when I have a coughing fit when out though. x

Hi Mojo

I get dizzy, l have been seeing my GP over it for months but he cannot find a reason for it....so he has referred me to the " Dizzy clinic " at the hospital.

I am waiting for an appointment.

I get them too and have put them down to my eyes being affected by the steroids when I am taking them, they seem uncoordinated for a few seconds or maybe a minute. Had an eye test recently everything fine. Don't have equipment to check my blood pressure but will check my oxygen levels next time it happens.

I also get this but like others say don't blame COPD I also have many symptoms of Lupus

Hi, I do get dizzy spells if I take my oxygen off for only a few minutes, I'm on 24/7 oxygen, I think it is because of lack of oxygen to the brain, but as one or two of your replies suggest it could be something else, see a doctor.

You may even have a ear infection, or blocked ears due to a build up of wax in one ear which can make you feel dizzy and wobbly. Best to check with your doctors.

Cheers

I used to get dizzy hyperventilating - the PR course helped me identify it and work out how to stop myself from doing it. So as the others have said, get your dizzy spells checked out - they could be caused by a number of things.

Thanks for all your replies, will look into them. I have had a bad day today think another chest infection so taking my rescue remedy (anti-biotics and steroids) which then give me terrible oral thrush ?? I also woke up and my oxygen tubing had come off during the night, felt awful, headache etc.etc. So now been on oxygen nearly all day. Does anyone else get the thrush with antibiotics ?? (Co-Amoxiclav 125mg) ?? So off to bed and hoping to feel better in the morning.

God bless xx
