I have everything I need ,a home ,family ,I open my purse and there is money in it ,never was when the children were little
May be a new cashmere cardigan ,seems the only thing that keeps me warm on a night like tonight
New heart and lungs of course. After a lifetime of struggling I am told that I don't fit the criteria.
Huddersfield Town getting promoted. Or just winning a game if even Santa can't manage that one.
To get back on the transplant list and for someone to transplant a heart into Ian Duncan Smith

Not yet Fern, but inching ever closer again. Had a MRI on Monday at the QE so now we wait for the results and for a meeting between consultants where they will decide what to do with me.
How are you getting on with those antibiotics and is the infection on the back foot now? x

Hi Toci, these transplant people are a fussy lot and take no chances. I had a MRI on Monday and if there are no signs of infection where bum abscess was then I should be back on the list.
Feels ok but who knows what they'll find, anyway we cross everything and wait which is something I'm well practiced at. x

Okay, thanks for the info...I would like that. I'm still on this very strict diet and not supposed to be drinking; miss my beer and wine more than cream in my coffee or bread. But it seems to be helping.
Oh, back to what we'd wish for...yes, chocolate, beer, cream, wine and all the stuff I'm missing....
A breakthrough in gene therapy to mend all our poorly lungs....maybe one day!
But in the short term what about you? Your own weight in chocolate, the best quality bottle of gin money can buy, being waited on hand and foot for a whole week etc etc etc.
Hi Mark....sorry to be a killjoy, but chocolate gives me migraine.....gin and prednisolone definitely don't mix...Heironymus Bosch nightmares.
So I'll stick with the lung therapy....just make it sooner rather than later

Having a good soak in a lovely warm bath without the panting getting in an out followed by snuggling under the duvet in freshly laundered sheets.

Yeah I would like a part time job coz I need to earn some money! Or even better a reverse of the increase of the pension dates so I could get mine now instead of having to wait another 3 1/2 years until 65 - the barstewards! x

Yes but you knew all along you would have to be 65 before you got yours. I always expected mine to be 60 then they bunged it up 5 years very suddenly. x

I was all for them lowering men to 60 to align retirement equally but I guess we were lucky they didn't push us all up to 70 . x

Me too frose! If they hadn't shoved it up so quickly I would have got mine now instead of living of living in poverty on tiny private pensions 
Mind you I am lucky , without my privte pensions I would have to sign on for Jobseekers Allowance, have even less money and be subject to their draconian conditions...And be sent on endless courses so I can learn to write interview letters and cv's. Bearing in mind I have a Uni education and have worked in admin all my life, what a total waste of money. Grrrrh x

Haha sorry but you made me laugh because the last time I was unemployed (2006) the job centre wanted me to do qualifications to help my job prospects. Confused, I looked at the woman and asked, "have you seen my qualifications? " yes, she replied but perhaps one of our courses might help you. I shook my head, laughed, and walked out. My problem in gaining work was that I was over qualified (BEd. MEd, PhD). I decided there and then that expecting any actual help from 'them' was naive in the extreme! So, I avoid them like the plague but, as the saying goes, we are all only one month salary from destitution.
To be chauffeured round the country seeing all the places I've read about in my favorite books with a 5* stay at the closest hotel to each

I will settle for boots or shoes that fit me when my ankles/feet are swollen.
Don't forget to drop by & pick me up in your time machine, I,ll help you read those books cause I can't be doing with those Kindle things, I,d not only loose my page but the whole book

You've got plenty of time, I'm nursing a septic throat at the mo
I find a pillow at the bottom of the bed to elevate feet at night helps with swelling Toci, & an hour with feet up in afternoon helps too

I have a tilted bed but it could be Spring before I get them on!
Hi Toci have you tried them ugg style boots I find they are very good when your feet swell the boots swell with them
Yes, I tried them last year. The problem is my ankles swell a lot more than the boots give and I had to have someone else pull them off for me when the blood supply was cut off!
Maybe we can all go to India on your time machine Toci, Or would O2 Trees magic carpet be better to hitch a ride on ?

I would prefer the time machine because it may be chilly on the carpet. 
For me ? I would love to go to India. To Varanasi on the Nile, to the pink city of Jaipur, to Srinigar in the hill country and the deserts of Rajasthan. I want to sink slowly into that alluring world of saris and spices, tigers and elephants, turbans and maharajahs.The dreadful pollution in the cities wouldn't bother me, I'd try to see only the beautiful and ignore the poverty. Except I'm not sure I could do that. But for me India is a land of deep vibrant colours, spiced with adventure and the possibility of experiencing a whole other way of life.
I should have done that while I could. Before my oxygen levels made long-haul flights an impossibility, when someone would have insured me for less then the price of a trip, when I could still envisage buying and wearing a sari and falling in love with a stranger.
Because I'm in hospital right now with a particularly nasty exacerbation, I should probably wish for new lungs but sadly, like the trip to India, that's only ever going to happen in my dreams.
But dreams are good, so what I really want for Christmas is to retain the ability to dream, to plan and keep opening new doors when other doors close. I want what all children (and adults who once were children) want. I want a little bit of magic - a surprise on Christmas morning.
Note to Santa: only pleasant surprises please and the bigger and more exciting the better.

We can always travel in our heads, read books, listen to music and watch loads of novies set in our dream locations.
Have you used Google Earth? I have walked the streets of most countries in the world thanks to this, lol. Not as good as the real thing, but better than not seeing.

I would ask Santa for ........ 3 X Ive written an answer and deleted it, I have no idea what I'd ask for, there's lots I would like but can't have ie: health, wealth and peace, but I already have lots, I'm alive ( sort of 😂 ) a loving family, a roof and food on the table and none of that comes in a box with a bow on it. Just saw this post. Great replies from everyone. I would definitely ask for a cure for our lungs. Or to go back in time.
Knowing what I know now, I would do so many things different. For the moment-
A farm house away from everyone. There my stray animals can run and be free!

For all my electronic and computer bits and accessories to work together without me having to spend hours at a time and lots on connectors to make them function. So maybe, just some magic connectors that make everything work together.

Nothing materialistic, as Christmas is about giving and new beginnings as in the birth of Jesus. However I would not say no to a new healthy and fit body like when I was in my twenties
For all my fellow H/u lung sufferers who are on the transplant list to get a transplant.
For me I would like all the MP's to suffer with breathing and have a nasty chest infection like we do just long enough to realise what our life is like. I would then like them to change the rules for the assessment for ESA & PIP for people like us
If it has to be purely selfish Mark it's got to be new lungs, or ones that work properly!
Sorry everyone I'm going to be very very selfish. Santa hear my wishes please. First to be accepted on the Trial and second to enjoy another Summer.
Lastly bring comfort and support to all people struggling in any way.

Having been asthmatic all my life and copd now as well, I would wish for 24 hours breathing as all unaffected people do. I have no understanding of `normal` breathing and would like to know what it feels like not to fight for every breath.
A pet that would never be ill and that would live exactly as long as me and would breathe its last at exactly the same time as me. And of course be by my side at that moment- even if that means us both being in hospital. Sheila xx
