Still got the flu pain.

About five weeks ago I came down with a viral flu, no cough no runny nose nothing just bone ache everywhere.

I thought id let nature take its course, I was taking dissolvable paracetamol, which helped. 5 weeks on I'm still getting flu like symptoms, pains all over first thing in the morning until I take the pain killers, I take 2 in the morning and 2 late evening

Now my throat is killing me, how long does this last?

I've had colds before but never this.

I did go see my useless GP but he just said a viral flue can last many weeks.

He didn't check my throat chest Bloods nothing.

It's really getting to me now, and I'm sick of taking these tablets.

PS don't mention the arm/shoulder after my ladder experience, it's still not fully mobile.

Any advice mirical cure will be much appreciated.

Hi David, sorry to hear your arm/shoulder is still not fully mobile. Perhaps you need physio to give you exercises to get the strength & use of your arm back to normal.

Your cold/flu seems to have lasted a long time. It's very frustrating that nothing can shift a virus. Just drink plenty, eat well & sleep well. Have you tried honey & lemon for your throat? It's very soothing.

Hope you get better soon 🌻

Tried everything including fisherman friends, even making my own smoothies in the morning, 4 strawberries had full of black berries 1 banna cup of milk, all done in the blender, that's after my hot milky poridge lol I'm still exercising twice per day but arm is still aching, if I stop the pain killers it's worse, horrible flu like pains in my bones.

Sounds like you're doing all the right things! Think maybe it's just going to run its course & you'll soon be well again.

Take care 🌼

Sorry all the miracle cures are now not available. I got flu a couple of days before my driving test too late to cancel it so went to the Docs and he prescribed Rinurel. Brilliant. I slept for twenty four hours and was as bright as a button for my test. Another time a doc prescribed Dymotap. Horrible nightmares on that but again slept for ages and got better quickly. Have never seen or heard of these since so can only presume that there was something in them that is now illegal! Shame.

hope you see some improvement soon.

Rest as much as you can and plenty of fluids 1968. There are so many things going around at the moment and it is too easy to pick up one thing after another especially when vulnerable. Hope you get well soon. Take care xxx

I also have been like this for nearly six weeks on and off. It seems that you just have to roll with it. I take comfort from a mug of mulled wine.

Kindest regards
