Molly caught her first ever mouse this morning...she emerged from the bedroom with this dear little creature hanging out of her mouth...it's eyes were bulging actually and it was emitting tiny squeaks...
She was totally hateful to it...letting it run away and then pouncing again just as it thought it was free...
I went from praising her at the beginning and telling her she was a clever puss cat, to telling her to feck's sake murder the poor little sod and be done with it...
She did in the end...in the shower...mouse was seriously mangled by then so Himself cremated it in the range.
Murphy was totally bemused...the mouse ran right past his paws and he just looked a bit bewildered and stepped backwards...

In baby field mice n through the bedroom window. Oh it was gruesome and sometimes the mice were alive and I would be shouting like mad at the dammed

Ah I know exactly how you feel vashti as my 19 month old moggie catches them too. He had one in the garden yesterday and kept 'playing' with it then ignoring it for a while. I had a look and the mouse was on it's back with it's legs in the air. It was still alive but just stayed there. It obviously knew it was dead. I did feel sorry for it but don't like mice anyway so left it to him. Cats will be cats. x
not had a mouse, but we did have a bird head, I said another cat did it cause my boy wouldn't need to eat it
Was once staying in a B&B in Mablethorpe . Sat in the lounge we saw through the window a cat playing with mouse also throwing it up in the air then chasing it when it fell and tried to escape. This went on for about 5 minutes before the cat allowed the mouse to go further with it ending up in the road. Could not believe it when the cat set off at speed to get it back but stopped dead at the edge of the curb and looked left and right before carrying on with the pursuit . It still caught it though
My smallest cat is one of the worlds great mousers and I get 2/3 almost every day. If she catches them in the day she'll bring them in and give them to me - usually alive- so I have the job of catching them and putting them back out But if she catches them In the night, she usually eats (most) of them - leaving the gall bladder, head etc., for me to pick up! Not exactly what you need before you've had your morning cuppa. lol
