Have my list neatly typed out for the Consultant tomorrow...going to ask her about something for this horrible anxiety...when I wrote about it on here several people suggested Oramorph and Citalapram...so I'm going to see if she thinks they'd suit me...and if not, what would.
I already take Seroxat...have been for the past twenty years...perhaps it's time for a change.
And I'm going to broach the subject of a wheelchair as well... she did suggest one ages ago but she might have changed her mind since then...if she disagrees then I think I might buy one anyway...just so Himself can take me out down the road when the weathers fine...can't walk more than a few yards now without getting horribly breathless and I do suffer from cabin fever and lack of fresh air...
Of course the most important list is for the craft shop...get my priorities right...most of that list is boring essentials like decent thread...and rotary cutter blades which cost a small fortune...another cutting board 'cos I left the last one near the window in my shed and it's buckled in the warmth...then there are the proper goodies like charm packs and jelly rolls...just as well I've been squirreling cash away.
I daresay the shop will be stuffed with Christmas fabric...won't be looking at that though.
I agree with Billiejean when she talks about a powered wheelchair, if you can get one as it will give you your freedom back, but there again if Himself is happy to push you that will be great as it will get you out of the house .as for the crafty shop they are such magic places, but I have had some good sewing finds in charity shops, as some folks get cross stitch kits and never finish them and as for wool there is always a ball or two I am rambling again hey ho thats old age for you ♥♥♥
Hello Vashti, I missed your previous post on anxiety. I do feel for you. After my pneumonia earlier in the year i had horrendous panic attacks. Always been an anxious person but it was more or less under control previously. Finally i got myself to the doc and she prescribed mirtazipine. I only take a small amount (it comes in three strengths) but it does the trick. Do hope your doc can sort something out for you.

I know people who have good results with Citilipram. Seroxat is more an anti depressant. It can take a while to be weaned off Seroxat
I think there are ways of doing it, so you you are not left without anything. The doctor will be able to advise you on that. As you have been on Seroxat for 20 years, it may well have lost some of it's effectiveness.
I don't think you will have any problems getting a wheelchair prescribed. One solution is a small power chair to use at home and down your street and a lightweight folding one for your car.
Good luck when you see the consultant. Having a wheelchair will be great for you, so that you can get out and about. At least you are going to the craft shop afterwards, a little treat for you after going to the hospital! Xx

I have been taking Citalapram for a good few years and believe it helps. Great idea re wheelchair, it certainly does make us feel better if we can get out sometimes. Oh and don't forget your nail varnish for ol frosty face! xx
Hi Vashti, I hope you managed to find your goods in the craft shop and managed to also get your doctor to agree to a wheelchair. That could make all the difference to you. Pete has one and it is a bit heavy to push when he is in it but I do get used to it. Lovely to get out and about on a fine day.
Did the Consultant come up with anything else for the anxiety? The body does get too used to drugs over time so a new approach could be good for you.
Yes I do hope you get your wheelchair vashti. I know we`ve got oxygen but it would be nice to get out in the fresh air without dragging a heavy oxygen trolley behind. I`d love to go out without this blooming cannula stuck up my nose ! Good luck, Sheila x
