Hi

Can you not have it piped to each room, usually fixed to wall with sockets at suitable locations.

Would it be the oxygen supplier to ask or the res nurse?

Hi

Speak to both, I believe your respiratory nurse may have to place the order.

Contact your Oxygen supplier and ask if they can pipe your oxygen into the rooms you would need it to be in.

I had mine piped in earlier this year and it is fantastic. No more trailing tube!!!

I don't think my Respiratory Nurse had to do anything.

hi 123098

you can get extra tubing, tacked along the skirting , then have a connection in each room,

but i'm like you, almost strangling myself with mines at times :)

If you can possible afford one you can buy small portable concentraters that clip to your belt. The battery life is only 3 or 4 hours but you can get spare batteries.

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, If you contact portableoxygen.co.uk you will be able to see it on Intermedicals website. It's called the AirSep Focus, and there is a bit for you to request a brochure. It is pricey @ £1,600. The company don't pressure you to buy anything. They sent me a brochure and never contacted me again. Then I called and made enquiries a few times before I decided what to buy. There was no pressure at all. I hope that helps you decide.

I know how you feel - it's very annoying especially when the tubing gets stuck under the doors. I asked about having it piped but o2 engineer said it would make a mess of my walls?! + I wouldn't be able walk up the stairs with it as I do now. If u do have it piped let me know if it's any better. Thanks.

I've never heard of piping before, but it sounds pretty good. At the moment I'm only on oxygen 16 hours a day, but I suppose that will increase in time. In my last house I took all the doors down exept for the bathroom and bedrooms because I was so annoyed at them catching the cable.

I would love a airsep focus but unfortunately it's not suitable for those of us on continuous flow - oh well, maybe someday someone will invent a mobile phone sized continuous flow O2 device.

Raven - if you look on healthcare websites there are foam pads u can put on the cannulas over the ears - I have to sleep using a bipap so a sore nose is my problem!
