I've was on intensive therapy for July/August including prednisone and abs. My prednisone has been reduced to 10mgs a day. I went to my GP 2 weeks ago after feeling like crap for almost a month - aching everywhere, constant pain etc. I thought I had an infection but he seems to think it's my body reacting to the reducing steroid dose and advised paracetamol and nurofen for the pain.
I can't remember the last time I've had a day where I feel well and I'm fed up. Something has to change. I've asked my respiratory consultant numerous times re vitamins and taking vitamin D but he's very non committal and just says to eat healthily which I haven't been doing to be honest as I'm on maternity leave juggling a baby while I feel this bad.
So can anyone reccommend what vitamin regime they use? I'll work on the eating part but feel I need a boost. I have zero energy all the time and would like to feel well again or at least not so crap!
A good multivitamin is a good start. I give my husband Berocca in the morning which makes a refreshing drink. Cheapest place to buy is Superdrug 3 for 2. If he doesn't have a Berocca he takes a multivitamin tablet. He also takes Vitamin D and an Omega 3 oil capsule. Opinion seems to be divided over whether we need extra vitamins or whether we get everything we need from a good diet but there seems to be a consensus that Omega 3 oil is very good for everyone. Many people think the same applies to Vitamin D. I had a blood test after 10 days in the sun and was found to be low in Vitamin D. I've just finished a 3 month course of Calceos ( calcium and Vitamin D) and now they are normal. Maybe you could ask your doctor for a blood test to check your levels.
Looking after a baby is exhausting and being sleep deprived won't help so try to get as much rest as you can.
