What is your age? Have you been in hospital over the past year? What Premium have you been quoted for Insurance?

Age 74 ..... been in Hospital once this year cheapest quote so far is ยฃ798... don,t know if that is good or not feels a lot to me. Apart from C O P D. I am healthy.. Ha Ha . Thanks for your help ๐Ÿ˜†

Unfortunately, most Insurers double the Premium when one gets to age 70. They don't like hospital admissions. Also, the Caribbean is the most expensive area for Travel Insurance. Whilst I hate to say this, I don't think that you will get a quote for significantly less money.

cruising is fantastic unfortunately age and illness are against us for this type of adventure, there are only limited facilities in the medical unit on board so if anything bad were to happen you would need to be air lifted off so for the insurance companies they are looking at the worst case scenario. It really is a case of filling in the same form over and over again until you find one that you are happy with. This one compares some, but not all, companies

Hope it all works out.

Hi there have to agree if your over seventy, been in hospital during the last year it probably is a fair quote but I would still give the link above a try if only to compare, Baily good luck and enjoy your cruise

Baily, I'm off on a cruise this month. I got my insurance from staysure for ยฃ75. That said I'm 66 and luckily not been hospitalised for two years. As others have said cruise insurance is more expensive than other types and I'm only doing the med and North Africa. Hope you have a great trip whatever the cost.

Hello

Last year my husband and I went to USA & Canada. I have COPD using 3 inhalers and 2 tablets daily, and my husband has blood pressure and heart problems. We insured with saga and it was ยฃ760 approx, we always use saga and found them very competitive.

Have a lovely time, we have been on a couple of cruises, you will love it!

Tried Saga they were the dearest, I think it, was the fact I have been in Hospital. Thanks...โ˜บ๏ธ

In the 13 years I have been qualified to use saga I have never found them best price on anything... no exaggeration.

Try Allclear 0845 2505350 I have severe COPD and emphysema atrial fibrillation and I had a mini stroke at Xmas and I have a failing ventricle and insurance companies declined me even Saga and Staysure but Allclear offered me a reasonable premium cover.

Beware the Air con which gave me a nasty flu bug last year when I was on P&O Oceana for 4 weeks to the Caribbean -- it took me several months to recover from it.

Avanti.

I find them the best - talk to them on the 'phone though. You actually should have special cruise insurance (to cover cost if need to be airlifted from ship).

0137605600800. (I have COPD. high blood pressure and osteoporosis)

Worldwideinsure,I am on oxygen and have IPF,my hubby is diabetic, got cover for 12 months worldwide travel,no excesses.ยฃ580. I did e mail BLF to add a page for insurances we on here managed to get,we're not that helpful, nearly every week someone on here is asking about insurance,it's not rocket science, but it seems endorsing a product is not good.Sooki.
