We took Eilis in this afternoon 'cos she had one of her nails growing into the pad of her paw...Susie cut it off and gave her a shot of anti-biotics...it's horribly swollen and oozing pus. Was fine first thing this morning...amazing how quickly it turned nasty.
Anyway...she grumbled under her breath but managed not to bite anybody...panted and dribbled all over the examining table...then her eyes lit up when she heard a dog barking in the waiting room...
As we were leaving I said I was going to ask the receptionist for a piece of paper and the loan of a pen...somebody had 'kittens free to good homes' on the notice board...
Susie practically dragged me into the room where they keep the strays and misfits...handed me a little ginger and white kitten with a gammy leg and asked would I have him...
Himself backed away hastily...
He'll probably have to have his leg amputated...it's one of the front ones...but if he does, she obviously won't charge us anything.
So, I'm to 'phone on Friday and see if he's had his leg off and what the x-rays show...in case he has damaged ribs...it'll also give me time to work on Himself.
He was taken into the I.S.P.C.A. after someone witnessed him being thrown out of a car window...they passed him on to the Vets for treatment...
I'd like Murphy to have a companion...and the damaged kitten is around the same size and age. And I like ginger cats...
Himself may need heavy bribery in the form of apple pies and treacle pudding...
Do hope you have the kitten. It's unprintable what I would like to do to those who harm animals, can only hope that one day they get their come uppance. Apple pies and treacle tarts here we come! Xx
.Aw bless I love ginger and white kittens, 2 of mine were that colour. Take him vashti. I would love to get hold of the idiots who chucked him out of a car - I would do the same to them and see how they liked it! x
Good luck on persuading Himself to have the kitten Vashti. He certainly needs a good and loving home, kitten not Himself (he already has one), and would be a good companion for Murphy. You are kind to take him in poor little thing. How could anyone be so horrible.
I also love custard with the pie and treacle pudding - let me know when you want me to visit.

How people can treat animals astounds me sometimes. Why would anyone throw a kitten out of a car window. SICK. Hope kitty gets on ok and gets a lovely new home with you.
