CRP slightly raised.

Hello anyone know what this means? I have been going through the copies of the letters I got from my GP just over a week ago again and writing a letter pointing out the numerous mistakes and I have come across this which I hadn't noticed before so wondered if anyone knew what it was and what it means please.

Thanks

Love and hugs to all

This is c reactive protein which is a marker for inflammation/infection. Anything above 10 is raised

Thank you. Just looked on webMD and see what it is. Makes sense as i have this haemophilus influenza infection which just won't clear up doesn't it.

Thanks and sorry for using you cos I was lazy.

CRP is an infection indicator it should be between 0-10 if it raised it could be an indicator of an infection. Hope that helps.

Thanks Deehbee, Wanted to ask you what would be valuable questions to ask when I get to UHSM please. What did you ask the Docs and si there anything you think they need to know from me or any question you now wish you had asked.

Thanks

I initially didn't ask any questions as the doc was so busy asking me questions. She took a fully medical and surgical history also asked about family health in general then she gave me a full physical examination and explained what tests she would be sending/requesting for me. The main question I want to know is if I do have aspergillosis and an adpergilloma will I be fit to go back to work. I had a CT scan in April which showed brinchiectasis and fibrosis and a lung module in the base of my right lobe. They are now testing me for aspergillosis along with other conditions. I've not worked since March as I get severely out of breath on exertion and fatigue is a real problem.

Thanks Sokrackers now don't wish arthritis on me too! I am going with it showing this infection. Sure I have arthritis as most people over 40 have it whether they have symptoms or not. I love your laughing icon gives me a giggle everytime I see it.

What do ya mean? It's not an icon it's me photo. Lol

I bought some 'pee' sticks to test for raised lucolytes to show infection. That's just my logic as that what Dr's 'used' to do and hospitals do.

Best get it checked out I won't tell you what mine showed as it is non specific so could relate to a numbers of things.

Let us know how you get on

Noticed an article in woman's weekly this week 'how to get the most out of your gp' but I'm too young to buy it lol. Sorry anyone but I've gotta stay positive.

Take care

Just had mine done while in for yet another exacerbation, they said it was slightly raised. It was 26.

I had IV anti-biotics and 40mg Prednisolone with Ipratropium + Salbutamol nebulisers.
