Headaches

Good Morning everyone from Oz. Just a quick question, I have been suffering from constant headaches for about a week. It is so bad I actually feel like my scull has moved! There seem to be bumps on my forehead that weren't there before, or maybe I am just growing horns LOL.

Could this be due to CO2 retention?

Hi Kad21. Headaches for a week sounds like you need a trip to your doctor. I get migraines and often get a headache when my blood oxygen levels drop from 98%+ down to between 90-95%, which can easily trip over into a migraine with other triggers. Not sure about your bumps though. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Eregendal

my sats are rarely above 92 at any given time. Thanks for your response.

Hiya Kad, long time no see 😃.

I had terrible headaches for years that lasted a week to ten days. Eventually treated for migraine but it turned out to be completely impacted sinuses. There are two big cavities in your forehead, two big ones in your cheeks then all the tubes/channels.

I used to think I had a brain tumour!

See your doc ASAP. Could simply be blocked sinuses. Drinking plenty helps to keep it moist.

Good luck xx

Hi Kad,

Like Peege I have lots of headachy pain that is caused by my sinuses being constantly blocked. No problems with the cavities and tubing (had them checked out several times), just infections that originally have started in my lungs and have escaped into my system. Hayfever season here so that does not help.

Perhaps a course of antibiotics would help even if you are on some already a different one could be helpful.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi kad21 you don't say if you already suffer from CO2 retention which does cause headaches. I very rarely have headaches but started with them a few months ago and it turned out to be CO2 retention. The respiratory team dealing with my oxygen did a blood test from my ear and found It was co2 retention so upped my O2 from 2lts to 4lts pm monitored my blood gasses and they have gone. Your headache could be something else going on so your GP is the one to visit. I always get advice of the COPD clinic I attended for my O2 and pulmonary rehab they are really helpful and even contact my GP if I need Antbiotics. Good luck hope you soon get sorted.

Definitely see your doctor, it could be a bug or something else. Drinking plenty of water would help too.

My headaches are always caused by something I am ingesting, so it might be worth looking at food drinks and medications common to each day you have a headache then if you eliminate things by not having them for a day you will eventually discover what is causing the pain.
